In 2018 I photographed and wedding. Today, I photographed their grief,their loss, their love - and the healing and transformation that grew from it.

Work like this is personal for all of us . The images are created for the poster of their debut performance piece, “One Thousand Mothers Collecting the Bones: a Journey of Grief and Praise. “, directed by the wonderful . The work is based on their experience of loosing their child to su***de.

For the images, I wanted a very minimal visual language - a simple stone - like background with mostly monochromatic tones - allowing the focus to remain on gesture, presence, and emotional space between them.

The performance will be presented at in Berkeley on Mother’s Day Weekend May 9 from 7:30-9pm

Wow, it’s Monday — 01/26/26 — a mirrored date and right on time for making an important decision.
Today I’m deciding that I will do my best
✨ to share my creative work with you every week because I have all this beautiful work that I am so proud of it that never shared with you and I hope it inspires you in one way or another.

So here I am, turning that decision into action and happily sharing this family portrait session from one of my favorite places — Davis Arboretum.

Why do I love it so much?
Because no matter the season or weather (okay… except heavy rain 😄), it’s always a beautiful spot for portraits. The redwoods never change color — they stay magical all year long and create the perfect backdrop for your family’s story and milestones.

Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall — you really can’t go wrong there.

A little tip though:
🍂 Fall weekends get very busy. If you’d rather not be surrounded by lots of families and photographers, I suggest booking in another season or choosing a weekday during fall instead.

While enjoying this beautiful view in a solitude and reflecting on the 2025 that has been deeply transformational year for me personally and professionally and very successful one I wanted to express my gratitude to all of you who supported me and trusted my work this past year , my new and my returning clients, my followers, my friends and mostly my family and especially my husband for walking through this whole journey of transformation with me from the very beginning. And last but not least the inspiring teachers that guided me through this time of healing and light.
Here is to growth, new begging and a magical 2026!

🌳 Why Family Photos Matter More Than We Realize.
I’ve captured so many beautiful extended families over the years … yet I rarely share those images here.

This year, I’ve been exploring my own family roots — the connections, disconnections, and reconnections that shape our family trees. Understanding where we come from, our genes, our lineage… it all matters.

In the summer while staying in Bulgaria, I even discovered that the place where I was born has records of my family dating back to the 1700s. It felt surreal… almost unbelievable.

These discoveries made me reflect on the responsibility I carry as a photographer.
Family photos aren’t just memories.
They become records.
Pieces of history.
Evidence that we were here.

These images were taken a year ago. I used to post sneak peeks, but over time, I started feeling that I would be giving away a part of their story too soon.
Every family experiences their photos in their own way, and I love honoring that. ✨
