Something something the team or donā€™t go alone or whatever. Insert scripture verse for good measure. Talk about the merits of, I donā€™t know, some kind of ethos or path or semi-esoteric way.

As Iā€™ve been getting back on airsoft and milsurp/tactical gear swipe feed, Iā€™ve seen a lot of patterns, alright.

Donā€™t get me wrong. Thereā€™s a lot of good stuff out there. Legitimate skills and knowledge to know and understand.

Iā€™m a Christian myself, and I could definitely do more to stand for what Christ taught. Compassion. Charity. Patience. Acceptance.

And I could do better to motivate and encourage others. Especially other men and fathers.

But sometimes it seems like people have just completely lost the plot. Focusing beyond the mark.

I donā€™t know. Iā€™ve got a lot of thoughts, questions and such. Doubts. Worries.

But at the end of the day, I have a wife and kids that count on me. A community that benefits from my kindness and input. So I keep going.

Still hoping to find some spare change though. Be nice, a little pick me up, ya know?

Yes. Iā€™m actually posting consistently. Iā€™ve decided I need to min/max better in my personal life.

Min out my excuses and self pity.

So Iā€™m going back to my roots. Before I even ā€œdidā€ social media.

Iā€™m talking backyard airsoft as an 8 year old, taking photos of my cool Lego spaceships and trying to make my own home action videos.

Except now I have (kind of) the resources to back it up. My production value will probably stay basic. I like the aesthetic, especially in a world where everyone is obsessed with perfect appearances (and any bro that denies that should look at how he interacts with his own internet feed).

I have an amazing family. Iā€™ve met some incredible people in my many hobbies and pursuits.

And I still ping-pong between hobbies and interests. So I might as well stop feeling guilty about that, about the whole ā€˜jack of all trades, master of noneā€ thing Iā€™ve got going on.

At the very least, I can master being myself.

So go find a gas mask, grab your trustiest pew, and letā€™s run amok in the frozen desert.
