Hey everyone it has definitely been a minute! We’ve got some news we’d like to share.

This week, a year ago is when things started changing very quickly. It’s when California was officially put on stay-at-home order for the first time.

Covid-related and personal events definitely took a toll on Stereoscope Media, and naturally things shifted for us in a lot of ways last year. Not all bad though, thankfully. At the end of 2020 we were so blessed to find out that we’re expecting a baby girl this summer 💕☀️ We’re SO excited - already starting to decorate her nursery (where this photo was taken ☺️).

All of this has led to our decision to officially put a pause on Stereoscope Media indefinitely. As other small biz owners know, it’s such a difficult decision to make because it’s our “business baby” but we feel confident and at peace that this is the best next step for our family right now.

We want to thank everyone, especially our family and friends, who’ve supported us since the beginning 🙌🏽🥰
To all of our clients who’ve trusted us to capture your special moments, we are SO incredibly grateful for you and to have worked with you ❤️🙏🏽
And to all the local small biz owners and vendors we’ve had the honor to work alongside who are continuing to keep going - we are cheering you on!! 👏🏽🎉

Like everything else, wedding planning and weddings in general look a little different now. How are you guys doing through all of it?

Oh, us? We’re hanging in there! Trying to focus on the good. One highlight is that we’ve been getting more and more inquires for 2021 weddings (which is awesome!) 🎉

We know there are lots of spoken and unspoken questions and concerns from engaged couples to wedding vendors right now. For our current couples and prospective couples, we want to speak for Stereoscope Media and let you all know upfront how we’re handling COVID weddings.

We are so incredibly blessed by and grateful for our dads and all the ways each of them loved us growing up and continue to extend their love even more to the both of us today.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, dads to be, dads who are not forgotten, and father-figures who’ve selflessly stepped up in that role.

We’re thankful for you today and always 💙

In 1967, in*******al marriage was still illegal in many states (that was only 53 years ago!) until Mildred + Richard Loving’s Supreme Court victory changed that.

Their story is a great reminder that individuals can create systemic change ✊🏾✊🏼

It’s been a while since we’ve shown our faces on here. If you’re new to Stereoscope Media, 👋🏽 Hi! We are the couple behind the cameras!

I remember the exact moment Royce and I decided we wanted to start a business together. I was 2 months away from graduating. He waited for me to finish my last class for the evening and surprised me with a box of pizza to share. 🥰 We were at the highest level of our favorite parking structure on our college campus talking about marriage and our future together.

I told him that I just got an offer to be a videographer on a short-term project for a company in TX and asked how he’d feel if I took the job and moved away for 6 months. (He was super supportive and I ended up taking the job!) We kept eating and talking and then I had a great idea, “What do you think about starting a videography business together?!”

It’s a dream that we had that came with some fear and doubt (mostly within me.. dreams don’t scare Royce 😆) but we went for it! And even in a pandemic situation like this, we’re actually even more excited to get out there again and continue doing what we love.

We can’t wait to meet you and make more wedding films! 🎉

Abby + Eric’s wedding (exactly a year ago from yesterday!) is the perfect example of making the most of a situation when it rains on your plans. If you missed it, their wedding film is up on our YouTube channel and now up on IGTV!

We know a lot of are bummed about pushing back their weddings or having to figure out a plan B, C, or even D.. (which absolutely SUCKS.. it just does..) BUT even if you do have to wait or decide to have a more intimate wedding instead, it WILL be just as special and maybe even more memorable.

If you haven’t been able to get to a place of peace and acceptance about your situation, try writing down (or talking with a trusted friend) a list of good things that this time of quarantine has brought into your life while you’ve been wedding planning.

* Have you had more intentional time/convos with family?
* Have you been able to better your communication with your fiancé?
* Have you had more time to focus on self care + health so that you go into your wedding day feeling more confident on the inside and out?

Just checking in! How’s everyone holding up?

Whether you’re starting to get used to or you’re beyond restless.. this is a friendly reminder that:

You doing your part by staying home STILL matters.

You doing what you can to support those working the frontlines DOES make a difference.

You who are able to support local businesses during this time means MORE than you know.

So keep on keepin on and remember who you are staying home for. Maybe give ‘em a call and make their day by telling them how much you appreciate them!

We know that some of you 2020 brides and grooms are not over the disappointment of your original wedding plans turning out the way you’d planned. Or maybe you’re still in the thick of it and making those very difficult decisions. Either way, your feelings are valid and it’s important to process them now vs blow up later.

There are a lot of unknowns but know that you’re not alone in this, you WILL still have your special day and the pieces WILL fall into place.

What a year this week has been.. 😓

It’s crazy to think that just a week ago from today was the last day that life felt relatively normal for us in Sacramento.

Like everyone else, we’re still in shock about how all of this stuff is going down and currently figuring out how to move forward both personally and in our business. But to all the 2020 brides and grooms, we are absolutely thinking of you and our hearts are breaking for you.. 💔 We are so sorry for all the ways your wedding plans, budgets, and mental health are being affected by all this.
