Since it was my anniversary yesterday I didn't get to post my Star Wars photos! May the 4th be with you on the 5th too! LOL!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Slowly I have been working on a project for my son's room that involves his Star Wars toys. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
R2D2 is his favorite! So, of course, we have to make Artoo look like he's on some distant planet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This project has been fun and I can't wait to share more with you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What do you think of this photo?

My 10-year-old chin rests on the window sill of the car. I feel like a sad dog staring out the passenger side window looking like I’m the only dog that doesn’t like car rides. We pass the local creek and I watch some boys riding their bikes down into the gulley. I perk up finding what they are doing interesting wishing I could join them. Some of them carry rods on the side of their bikes the ends of them bouncing with the bike as it hits rocks in the side of the road, bobbers dangling at the ends of the rods. Others grip the handles of small sand-colored tackle boxes. They ride in perfect uniformity following each other in a line. They ride as if they are a synchronized team that has been together for years. Their mouths are wide open as they glance back and forth at each other, laughing. Their lips move, but their sounds are inaudible.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I watch them until they disappear into the gulley and I can only see the tops of their heads. My body sits back in my seat and I go back to resting my chin on the car door. In my mind I play out the rest of the scene in my head. All of them are fishing, having a good time, maybe finding a crayfish or two as well. When they are done they ride back home to show their moms what they had caught.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, as a parent, when I drive around my neighborhood I barely see kids outside, let alone riding bikes together down the shore of a creek. Why don’t I see this anymore? Maybe I just don’t pay attention, but honestly, I think it’s more than that. Kids probably find video games more fun now and parents are probably not letting kids go farther than the driveway. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are parents more scared these days? Is society really more scary than it was 20 years ago? According to crime statistics we live in a time that’s safer than ever before, but kids aren’t allowed to go outside by themselves. Neighbors tell on parents if a girl walks her dog around the block (true story). Continued in comments...

As the Montana sky changes the water follows in a different kind of awe-inspiring display. It looks more like an impressionistic painting than a reflection of the sky. It also seems as though I photoshopped my husband fishing off the shore. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nothing is photoshopped here. It's just me and my husband in the quiet of the water watching the colors of nature change right before our eyes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Oh how I wish my virtual ride through Montana was real right now!

252 miles. What does that mean to you? Nothing I'm sure, but to it means $252 raised for the Crohn's and Colitis foundation. It's how much I would like to raise during my virtual bike ride through Montana. If you are willing and of course able in this weird time I would greatly appreciate your support. If not even your encouragement is support enough for me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a testament to this picture would indicate Montana's sky is magnificent. It's big and wide open, but not only is it that, its sunsets rival California's and Hawaii's! There's so much more coloring viewing in a sky that enormous. Every night and every day the colors are different less consistent than of the states I mentioned before. You know what would be a fun photo project traveling to every state to take a photo of its sunset. Maybe one day when life returns to somewhat normalcy and we are able to travel again.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For now I envision myself, while on my stationary bike riding next to the Montana rivers, feeling that crisp air whip across my face as the breeze blows against the top of the water. I pedal along watching the river slowly turn to black as the sun goes down behind the horizon. I feel like I am riding on top of the smooth surface of the water as I twist and turn with the river's bends. Until I stop, looking behind me, to watch the clouds colors magically change from pink to white to dark orange and sometimes firey red. Could Montana's sky be more perfect?
