Twig Photography

Our home is full of blue stuff, sports equipment, capes, Ninja Turtles, cars, Legos, and ONE PINK TUTU that I keep just for myself whenever I’m feeling the need to wear it and my “girl” on.

Photography has been a hobby of mine since childhood. I can remember dressing up my sister and little cousins, hanging blankets up behind them and making them pose for my camera. We’d then have to beg my mom to bring my film to Walgreens and wait a few days for the images to be developed. When I started having children of my own my hobby became a full on obsession. I love taking pictures. I love viewing my image afterward and being overcome with glee. I love sharing my pictures with others and seeing smiles spread across their faces.

My sister Katelyn encouraged me, relentlessly, to turn my hobby into a career and after MUCH refusal I gave it a go. Thanks to many wonderful families willing to give me a try I had about 20 photo sessions in 6 weeks! I left each session grinning, unable to wait to put my SD card in my computer and view the images. Although I do make a profit via photography, it’ll never be a career to me.

Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men. [Colossians 3:23]

I love capturing REAL life. I love the everyday sillies and barefoot kids. I feel passionate about treating my clients in a Christ-like manner. I want to be the hands and feet of Jesus while capturing such sweet memories of your everyday lives. (Which by the way…includes screaming children)

Why Twig? As a child, my Aunt Mary always called me Twig. The name faded away but I always think of her when I hear the word Twig. Besides…she also called me Miss Piggy and I feel Twig had a better “ring” to it.
