Here we are. June. The month that includes the longest day and the shortest night known as the summer solstice. Astronomically, Sunday, June 21, 2026, is the official first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. However, if you are speaking meteorologically, the first day of summer begins June 1st and ends August 31st. :) Now you know..... we can begin celebrating summer today!

The color palette of summer is erupting quickly and there is so much more to come. All those plants grown from seed this spring are finding the freedom to grow now that their roots are diving deep into the sun warmed soil.

It's a wonderful time to enjoy picnics, take walks on the beaches, watch the gardens grow, and catch fish from the boat.

Don't waste time in the house. Get out there and suck up the sun. Enjoy the beautiful and colorful moments of summer.

Oh me. Oh my. It's May!!! The peak of spring is upon us. Exited to see nature's new growth and the migratory birds returning in just the past couple of days. No hummers yet but the orioles, rose breasted grossbeaks and indigo buntings have been sighted in Stearns County. Great to see the romances spark and nestings begin. Love is in the air.

Who's ready to start planting their garden? Going to be a bit before the soil is warm enough. Regardless, I'm anxious and ready to go. Going to be fun transplanting all the flowers, peppers, tomatoes, and cabbage plants I started from seed over the past couple of months. I may have (I know I have) gone overboard in my seed planting and will have far too many but, hey, the more the merrier, right? :D :D

Did you know the month of May is named after a Roman goddess named Maia? Yes, she is the overseer of growing plants, farmlands, and warm weather. Let's hope Maia will treat us well this month.

Last, did you know we have two full moons during this year's month of May? Indeed. We had one on May 1st (flower moon), and on May 31st, we'll experience the 2nd full moon in May. The one and only blue moon for the year of 2026. Kind of cool that May has opened and will close out with a full moon. Reallly cool, actually.

Well, happy planting and bird watching, everyone. Enjoy the beautiful moments. 😍😍

Seems like just a few days ago that I made the last post. Well, here we are weeks later. What could have been so much fun that it made time fly by so fast??? Watching my seeds turn into plants!!! That's what. Been a fun few weeks. What started out as a couple trays has now turned into many. My dining table, pool table and piano room have transformed into a greenhouse. 😆😆 Hopefully the weather warms up soon. I'm running out of room!! 😆😆
