Digitizing Family Film PHOTO SCANNING & VIDEO TRANSFER EXPERTS IN SALEM and KEIZER, OREGON Reviewing the 35MM Slides, Photos, and 8MM Movies was like walking into a time machine.

I inherited both of my grandparent’s 35mm slides and 8mm movies; it was not until years later that I decided to find out what was in the boxes. I found myself mesmerized by all the precious memories. Many of the people I had heard remarkable stories about but had never had I met the people. After reviewing the film, I felt a sense of understanding for who they may have been. I took my newfound int

erest and decided to take it to a whole new level. I started purchasing high-end transferring film equipment. Not only did I go back through all my film, but I discovered that with the proper transfer equipment, my film was cleaner, clearer, and digitized. I was quickly able to share all those memories with all my uncles and aunts, and cousins. What could have been lost forever was preserved, and what a blessing it had become to the extended family. It wasn’t long before I realized that the film I took of my kids was also soon to be difficult to watch and degrading. I had all my family memories on VHS tapes and small MINI DV movie cassettes but no camera. I can now transfer vintage media into today’s digital age while Honoring Those That Came Before Us!

Many families and collections still have glass slides and glass plate images carefully stored away. These fragile pieces often hold some of the oldest and most detailed photographs, capturing moments from generations past.

Because they are made of glass, they can be easily damaged, scratched, or broken, and viewing them properly requires special equipment.

At Digitizing Family Film, I carefully digitize glass slides and glass plate images into high-quality digital files, preserving every detail while safely handling these delicate originals.

Once digitized, you can:
• Preserve fragile originals without further handling
• View and share images easily with family or organizations
• Create backups to protect against loss or damage

Many families have boxes of printed photos stored away — albums, shoeboxes, and drawers filled with memories that haven’t been looked at in years.

Over time, photos can fade, get damaged, or be lost, and it becomes harder to share them with family members.

At Digitizing Family Film, I can carefully scan your printed photos and slides into high-quality digital images, making it easy to organize, view, and share your collection.

Once digitized, you can:
• Create backups so nothing is lost
• Share photos with family and friends
• Enjoy your memories on your phone, computer, or TV

Many families have reel-to-reel audio tapes stored away that contain irreplaceable recordings — voices of loved ones, music, interviews, and moments from decades past.

These tapes were popular before cassette tapes and often hold high-quality recordings, but today reel-to-reel players are hard to find, and the tapes themselves can deteriorate or become damaged over time.

At Digitizing Family Film, I can carefully convert your reel-to-reel tapes into high-quality digital audio files, making it easy to listen, share, and preserve those important memories.

Many families still have old 8mm film reels stored in boxes, closets, or attics. These small reels often contain some of the earliest moving images of family history — vacations, holidays, birthdays, and everyday life from decades ago.

The problem is that film projectors are becoming rare, and running old film through a projector can sometimes damage or break fragile film.

At Digitizing Family Film, I can carefully convert your 8mm film reels into high-quality digital files so they can be safely preserved and easily shared with your family.

Once digitized, you can:
• Watch the films on your TV or computer
• Share them with family members
• Preserve those memories for future generations

If you have 8mm, Super 8, or 16mm film, I’d be happy to help bring those memories back to life.

In the 1980s and 1990s, many families used compact VHS-C camcorders to record everyday life. These small tapes captured vacations, holidays, birthdays, school events, and all the little moments that made up family life.

Because VHS-C tapes were designed for camcorders, they can be difficult to play today without the original equipment or a working adapter. Many families still have these tapes sitting in drawers or storage boxes but no simple way to watch what’s on them.

At Digitizing Family Film, I specialize in converting VHS-C camcorder tapes into high-quality digital files. Once digitized, your videos can be easily watched on a computer or TV, shared with family members, and preserved for years to come.

If you're local, there’s no shipping required — you can bring your tapes directly to my studio.

For many families, cassette tapes hold very personal memories. These recordings might include someone singing a favorite song, playing a musical instrument, or practicing music from years ago.

Other tapes contain something even more special — the voices and life stories of parents or grandparents that were recorded years ago.

The problem is that cassette players are becoming less common, and cassette tapes can wear out or deteriorate over time.

If you have cassette tapes stored away in a drawer or box, now is a good time to preserve them before those recordings are lost.

At Digitizing Family Film, I convert cassette tapes into high-quality digital audio files so you can easily listen again, share them with family members, and preserve those voices for future generations.

If you're local, there’s no shipping required — you can bring your tapes directly to my studio.
