I met this sweet mom at church about a year or so ago and she is one of the kindest people I know. Her smile is contagious and she literally lights up every room she walks into.

During our session this past week it was so fun to see the different dynamics of her family. My goal is to always capture personalities, happiness and memories through photos. I think I did just that with this familyā€™s photos. They were seriously so fun to hang out with!

So, if youā€™re like me and donā€™t like the cold but want to take photos of your family, lifestyle photo shoots are the way to go! Capturing families in their homes is one of my favorite types of photography. Itā€™s comfortable and helps families capture memories of their safe space. šŸ«¶šŸ»

My husbandā€™s family was all together right before Christmas this year, so we took a quick family photo! I had to swap 6 heads to get this photo but itā€™s always worth doing the head swaps to get the best photo!

This is long over due but here are some of my family photos we did in California!!

We went to San Diego last October to celebrate my mom retiring from being a speech pathologist. While we were there I really wanted to take our pictures on the beach but hate paying someone else to do it when I can do it myself šŸ˜‚ so I convinced one of my sisters to come with me!

Unfortunately we didnā€™t know the area that well and by the time we found a beach that was over crowded we had 30 minutes until sundown so these were taken incredibly quick. (We actually managed to do mine and a few for her family as well..) It was rushed and stressful but somehow we managed to get some photos!!

I did the photos of my kids and set up the cameraā€™s settings for my sister () to take ours. I have to say she needs to move to Utah and be my assistant šŸ˜œ she did amazing!!

December has been so busy that I feel like Iā€™ve had little time to post! I love Christmas time and all of the activities but Iā€™m so glad my kids are in their Christmas break and we can just enjoy the few days we have together to hang out and relax before Christmas Day. šŸŽ„

This is a headshot I did for a friendā€™s son that is a fantastic actor! Go watch him in The Christmas Carol , he is amazing in it along with the entire cast.

Also, these headshots were taken in one of their homeā€™s bedrooms as well as their backyard. If you need headshots taken, message me and we can set something up!

I feel like this fall has been so busy between photoshoots and editing, our CA vacation, being a mom and helping out at my kidsā€™ school that Iā€™m behind on Instagram. šŸ˜‚ Sometimes I decide to take too much on and I should just chill out once in awhile. Haha

Anyways, here are my adorable parents! I didnā€™t take a ton of photos of them in California but I was at least able to get a few! We went as a whole extended family to celebrate my momā€™s retirement after she worked as a Speech pathologist for about 30 years and it was fun to see her relax in October not worrying about work anymore. ā¤ļø
