as soon as my funkers presented me with their vision of having their engagement session on a basketball court — i dusted off my sneakers, laced them the funk up, and headed straight to the court!🏀💍📸

i love seeing the faces of my funkers light up when we talk about vision and planning for their masterpiece. planting little seeds during our call to help grow and expand their creativity of what truly makes their masterpiece, 1000% uniquely tailored to them.

that’s why it is very rare for you funkers to see things being replicated throughout my art. there may be similarities in some things but, the vast majority have such a lovely way of how their love is displayed.

this was truly a first for me and absolutely loved being invited to step onto the court with my funkers — a basketball court in which they love to spend countless afternoons with family for quality time.

it’s nothing but an honor when my funkers let me inside of their worlds and allow for my funkyness to come and play!🎨🖕🏽❤️‍🔥

the mixture of energy between playfulness and competitiveness that filled the space when these two stepped onto the court was so beautiful to witness and document. there was tons of steamy, intense love all mixed in with laughs, dancing, and occasional passionate stare downs (a let’s get it on, it’s time to cook sort of thing). 😮‍💨🔥

creating these beautiful self-love steamy session masterpieces is probably some of the most fun i’ve ever had as an artist. ESPECIALLY, when your funkers reach out to you wanting to celebrate their birthday in their birthday suit! 🎂

i think this feeling is solely due to the energy of creating one on one with my funker. i can no longer just be a “fly on the wall” or an “observer” and capture what my heart tells me to. there’s a lot more creatively that goes into these sessions when we are in the same space exchanging energy!⚡️

you should have seen how proud my funker and i felt after we walked out of that space together knowing we created a, funkin’ masterpiece. there is no better feeling in the world when your funker looks deep into your soul and tells you, “ how comfortable they felt with you!”🥹

it seems like my funker and i had been talking about this session for YEARS but we knew when the moment was right, it was TIME TO FUNKIN’ CREATE!🍾💥

i love doing these sessions so much because of how many ideas + visions my funkers have for their own self-love sessions. it’s definitely one thing to feel confident and sexy doing a session like this but, when i beg of you to please meet me in the middle and show me everything there is to you, FUNKIN’ BRING IT!😮‍💨🔥

one of the biggest lessons i’ve learned that has been embedded in my heart from generation to generation in my family is— “put yourself in their shoes. love whomever you want with every ounce of your heart. do it ever so kindly, freely, and love HARD!”

it’s these words that run through my heart every single second when creating with my couples. the curiosity in me takes over in helping me single handedly create that one of kind experience for my funkers.

when creating with these two lovely funkers, a new form of passion in my storytelling came to life. i wanted to bring a new element into my masterpieces where we were able to experiment with light and perspective. this was a true collaboration where we went into the space hand in hand, creating with our hearts and SO MUCH FUNKIN’ LOVE🥺

i wanted to express their love through cinema and captivate an everlasting memory through film. to me, this is one of my greatest masterpieces i’ve ever created and truly one that relays in my heart every single day.

as i continue to further my curiosity in enhancing the way i storytell and curate masterpieces, it’s all thanks to my beautiful couples that come from all forms of: love, shapes, sizes, and color. whatever you want documented, i’m here for it and ready to bring your vision to life!

“chuy, our home is your home. what do you need? how can we make you feel comfortable?” sound familiar? these are usually some of the questions i ask my couples when we create.

they picked me up from the airport, wouldn’t even let me carry a thing as they would beat me to getting my things. was loved on by their fur babies and offered me all the snacks.

we noticed the water was just PERFECT to do some underwater shooting, something that is another BEAST in itself. they were patient. they showed love. we did everything to get the shot. even some beach goers got the horrifying joy of seeing my ass crack as i got washed into shore with sand everywhere. i thought to myself, “damn, i hope i got the shot!”😭

we created in their backyard where they showed me how to break open a coconut and finished our steamy shoot at a private n**e beach. when we got back home, we fired up the grill, cooked some meat, and smoked some ci**rs. i grew incredibly sick that night from the cigar i smoked. the hospitality and care they showed me was everything. my funkers legit spoon fed me a spoon full of sugar to help settle my stomach. this is trust to me. this is love to me. this is what family is to me. this is the saying, “funk with me and i’ll funk with you.”

i didn’t create an experience for them, they created one for me. memories like these help pour ALL of my passion into their art to deliver a funkin’ masterpiece🥹🎨

the stories and observance of love that i get to experience while on my sessions with my couples fuel my creativity to create the masterpieces you see here today! these two were sooooo much fun to create art with! the energy that radiated throughout the space was incredible!

i always strive for my funkers to have a one of a kind ch*****ne pop. my funker said, “want to see my party trick?” who knew popping ch*****ne with you handstand twerk could be so fun! adding that to the bucket list! haha!

what better way to slowly close this season of summer than with these two beautiful souls! they were truly, the epitome of, “literally funkin’ down for anything!” so much so, my funker has a middle finger tattooed on her inner lip to prove it 🖕🏽

all of the ideas and visions that were pouring out of us during our time together was a funkin’ masterpiece with every👏🏽 single👏🏽photograph!👏🏽

i already cannot wait for the day i get the honor to create with them again on our next masterpiece🎨🔥🫣

i had the absolute honor of capturing this beautiful, self-love steamy session as a surprise wedding gift for my funker’s husband🤍

it wasn’t until i physically stepped back and took in all the moments from this set that i realized how every image holds its own way of telling a story — its own perspective. some spoke visually, others stirred something deeper, and far more internal. and in that reflection, i found myself thinking more intentionally about the kind of artist i want to continue showing up as, and the perspective i want to create from.

at the very heart of it all, what this means to me is turning your love story into a breathtaking masterpiece. whatever “story” looks like for you—i funkin’ want in on it. every funker who steps in front of my camera walks such a beautifully unique path in this life. yes, there are similarities (and maybe that’s why my art may resonate with you), but there’s also a richness in every story—one filled with individuality, depth, and vibrant energy.

and as i continue crafting these intentional, forever-lasting masterpieces and memories with my funkers, i’m reminded again and again how special it is to witness and honor each journey through my lens.

the day before the wedding🥵🔥

i wholeheartedly believe that everyone out there getting married should do a steamy session the day before their wedding.

coming from years of shooting weddings, it never fails—there is always some sort of panic or stress that can quickly feel overwhelming. trust me, i’ve been there with my own wedding. i just wanted to run into my soon-to-be wife’s arms and disappear for a bit😩🫶🏼

setting intentional time aside to ground yourselves and set the foundation, tone, and energy for how you want to remember your big day is SO important to me.

i’ve had the honor of doing this quite a bit in my career and will always recommend it. the next day, i walked in to greet my funkers and they genuinely looked like they were floating on a cloud. every moment of the day felt—FELT. you could tell they were taking it all in, surrounded by their loved ones, never wanting it to end… and now they have those memories photographed to last a lifetime.

i’m always so excited to be trusted with documenting weddings for my funkers. it’s how my career started as an artist, and i owe everything to it. i’d honestly love to lean back into storytelling with weddings, especially with how much i’ve grown and learned in my craft.

my funkers invited me over to vegas to go all out and define the true meaning of not giving a funk!🖕🏼 this 2-day experience was absolutely beautiful! from surprising his love with a massive bouquet arrangement of florals, to the gangster swaged out bridal gear they had on, down to the bottom of their sweet loving funkin’ hearts!

after i took their photo in front of the iconic las vegas, nevada sign, i dropped them off at their restaurant reservations to enjoy their elopement dinner celebration. i ended up sneaking into their suite and decorated everything, vegas funkin’ style baby! balloons, confetti canons, ch*****ne, and of course— the dolla bills! 💸🔥

imagine returning back to your hotel room and there i am in dim lighting, just waiting to funk s**t up some more haha! i’m sure these two funkers had other plans than to expect the king of steam in their room😂

there is absolute no better feeling than waking up at sunrise, having the ENTIRE beach all to yourself, as you embrace into each other’s arms and celebrate your engagement together!

coming from the early days of my career as a photographer, engagement sessions were such a huge part of how I learned to document love.

fast forward to today, and i’ve realized there are no rules for what that has to look like.

you can lean into the unconventional. you can create art that feels entirely your own. and more than anything, you can document love exactly the way my funkers envision their love being seen, felt, and remembered.

we of course, captured the “safe for grandma’s fridge magnet” photos for the save the dates but as soon as that was all set and done, the steam kicked in!💨

my funkers were rolling around the sand, running in and out of the cold plunge of an ocean, and just absolutely living a life full of love!

these two are seriously something special. it was an honor being able to be in their space creating a breathtaking masterpiece together! I already can’t wait for the next one! congratulations to you both!💍🔥
