Día de los Mu***os 2021 Part 1

Perhaps one of the most spiritual traditions I have had the privilege to experience multiple times in Mexico and this year, in San Antonio.

Dia de los Mu***os is a multi-day celebration involving family and friends gathering to pay their respects to those who have passed. It is a celebratory tradition filled with marigolds, colorful skulls and animals made of sugar, food and drink as they remember stories and humorous anecdotes of the deceased.

I have always admired the Hispanic humor and culture, their ability to not take otherwise dark circumstances so seriously. I adore their concept of family, always creating intention of coming together often over food and drink to laugh and celebrate the simple things of life.

Though we often joke about our ~sleepy San Antonio~ I was gracefully reminded this season of the strong cultural roots that keep this city alive, colorful and ever-so laid back✨
