It’s been a while since I’ve shown off some of our video work 🎥

But I’ve gotten a ton of great feedback on this video ad we created for G Morris Homes.

One of the coolest parts has honestly been watching the process from start to finish. Filming these homes in the early construction stages and then seeing the final luxury product come to life at the end.

For this project, we also started implementing some tasteful AI assisted editing to help create smoother transitions and elevate the storytelling 🤖✨

And I’ll always say this:

AI should enhance creativity, not replace it.

Cool edits alone do NOT generate leads for your business.

Strong messaging, strategy, consistency, and understanding your audience will always matter more than flashy visuals.

But when branding, cinematography, and marketing strategy all work together correctly, that’s when content starts performing differently 👊

Every shot in this video was intentional, calculated, and executed with purpose.

And this isn’t random content creation.

That’s not an effort problem.

What kills most videos happens 3 seconds later. 👀

If someone stops scrolling.
Your hook is working.

…but then nothing interesting happens next.
So they leave. 📲

This is one of the biggest reasons good content never gets finished.

Not because the information is bad.
Not because the video is poorly edited.
But because curiosity peaks once… and then dies.

Most creators think the hook is the whole game.

In reality, strong videos follow a different principle:
Curiosity should rise multiple times throughout the video.

Not just once.
That’s where interest peaks come in.

Small moments that keep viewers leaning forward.
For example:

• A line right after the hook that deepens curiosity
• A quick statement that hints at what’s coming next
• A short pattern break that resets attention
• Another curiosity spike halfway through the video
Every time curiosity rises again…
people keep watching.

And when people keep watching, the platform naturally shows the video to more people. 📈

A simple place to start:
After writing your hook, ask yourself,

“Where is the next moment in this video that makes someone want to keep listening?”

Everyone loves a successful lead campaign! 🚀📈

9 leads. 4 booked calls!

All in less than 7 days. 🏆🏆

But the part most people miss…

The other leads didn’t disappear.

They automatically moved into a non-pushy follow-up and retargeting system designed to nurture the people who didn’t book right away.

This is where most service businesses struggle.

They run ads.

They get leads.

But the creative doesn’t clearly relate to the next step — booking a call.

So people show interest… but hesitate.
Then the leads that don’t book immediately simply fade away.

The real issue usually isn’t the ads.
It’s that lead generation and lead conversion are treated like two separate things instead of one system.

A better structure looks like this:

• Ad creative that speaks directly to the person who should book

• A simple path from the ad → to the booking decision

• Automated follow-ups for leads who don’t schedule immediately

• Retargeting so warm prospects keep seeing the message

The leads who are ready book now.

The ones who aren’t ready yet stay warm.

Five years ago, I lost every client I had.

Not one.
Not most.
All of them.

I remember sitting there staring at my phone 📱, waiting for a message that wasn’t coming.

Waiting for a referral that never showed up.

Up until that point, I was confident.
I had learned video.
I had learned editing.
I knew my craft. 🎥

And I thought that was enough.
When the clients disappeared, so did the confidence.

I felt embarrassed.
I didn’t really want to tell anyone what was happening. I started questioning whether I was actually as good as I thought I was.
I blamed my skill level.

I thought I needed to get better at shooting.
Better at editing.
Better at production.
But that wasn’t the problem.

The uncomfortable truth was this:
I had built my business on word of mouth alone.
I wasn’t building demand.
I wasn’t generating leads.
I wasn’t controlling my pipeline.
I was hoping.

And hope works… until it doesn’t.

That was the turning point.

I stopped obsessing over sharpening my service skills and started developing marketing skills. I learned how to create demand. How to build systems. How to generate conversations intentionally instead of waiting for them. 📈

That season humbled me.

Because depending on word of mouth only isn’t stability.

It’s a ticking time bomb 💣 waiting to explode into scarcity and stress.

Losing those clients forced me to become a marketer, not just a technician.

And sometimes the hardest seasons aren’t there to break you. They’re there to expose what you’ve been avoiding.

If you’re in that season. Keep going. It’s worth it.

But content alone doesn’t create growth.
If your videos aren’t tied to one clear objective, they’re just noise.

That’s not a creativity problem.
It’s a systems problem ⚙️

Here’s the principle 👇
Content should serve one defined business goal.

Not “more views.”
Not “more engagement.”
One goal.

When content aligns to a single objective:
• Messaging becomes clearer
• Offers become stronger
• Leads become more qualified
• Marketing feels intentional

2017. I had back surgery.

Lying in that hospital bed, I didn’t know if I’d ever feel like myself again.

Rehab was slow. Progress wasn’t linear. Doubt was real.

At the same time, my savings were gone. Rent was late. Food was low. Utilities were close to being shut off. Being put out of work forced me to face some hard truths.

At 23, I realized the story I was telling myself had made me complacent — and ultimately the weakest version of myself.

Staring at the ceiling fan, one thought kept looping:
“I don’t know what I’m doing with my life… and I never want to be here again.”

From that moment on, everything changed.
Step by step, I rebuilt.
First my body. Then my mindset.
It started with learning to move again.
Then reading, learning, listening to voices like Jim Rohn.

Then back in the gym — treadmill, cables, dumbbells, and eventually the barbell again.

Less than two years later, I was powerlifting and breaking the personal records I had set before surgery.

That momentum led me to my first bodybuilding show.

More importantly, it changed the direction of my life.
If I hadn’t gone through that season, I never would’ve stepped into business or discovered my desire to serve others.

Growth doesn’t always look like winning.

Sometimes it looks like starting over with faith and discipline.
