I am Lana, an E-RYT500 and photographer living in San Antonio, TX. I have been a photographer since 2004, practicing yoga since 2006, and I have combined my two passions - yoga and photography since 2011. My work is intended to uplift, empower and support yoga teachers, yoga studios and small businesses by taking beautiful images for flyers, websites, social media and more. I specialize in capturing the details that express what is unique and truly special about you and your small business.

There’s a different kind of ease that comes with photographing friends because of the comfort level you already share. And then, of course, is their love for each other that already really shines through! They already move through the world so naturally together that I just got to just capture their love. The entire session was full of laughing and moments between them that can’t really be staged.

What a gift to have been trusted to capture part of their story.

I love love! And I love capturing it! I feel like this photo fully captures their love, not just in the colors or the light, but in the way they’re fully present, fully settled in the moment, like the rest of the day faded out for a second.

It was truly an honor to photograph Justice Patricia Alvarez (Ret.) whose work has played such an important part in this city’s history. This portrait will live forever in the hallway of the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals in downtown San Antonio next to the other justices who have retired, as a quiet reminder of her years of service and dedication. I am so grateful for her trust in me to take a portrait special enough to represent her and her career as a Justice.

Some seasons pass so quietly you don’t realize how much they meant until they’re gone.

Photos like this are a way of holding onto them a little longer, just the everyday closeness, the love in a look!

Light doesn’t always need to reveal everything. Sometimes it’s more powerful in what it holds back.

A cup of tea in hand, a genuine smile, the softness of being in a home. These are the details that start to tell a story. Not just what someone looks like, but how it feels to sit across from them. That’s what I aim to create. Images that don’t just show someone, but invite you to get to know them.

There is something about photographing empowered women that hits different is in a season of healing and growth, and you can feel it in the way she holds herself. The closed eyes are not performative. They are intentional. The light reveals her. The pose is steady, grounded and open, just a woman, a mother, a yoga teacher meeting herself honestly in this season.
