Autumn in Salem.

New England was AWESOME! Now I've got Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire in the books. It was more beautiful than I expected, so there's no doubt I'll be back.

Don't sleep on Boise in fall, it is an oasis of color on the edge of a desert and that contrast is astonishing🍁

Each year I learn more about editing and photography. These photos are from a trip to Boise two years ago. I just got back from New England, where the colors are changing and fall is in full force! I decided to go back and apply my new editing skills to these shots and I am so happy with how they turned out 🍂

Where are you going for your next vacation?
I haven't taken a vacation since traveling to Italy last year, but I'll be flying out to New England in just a couple weeks! It will be great to discover a new corner of the United States and hopefully see some fall color. How early is too early to pack my bags?

Venice, San Michele Cemetery.
If you’ve been to Venice, you may know that there are small islands all around the city. Some are home to ornate churches or small artisan villages. This happens to be a photo of a cemetery.
Venice is a maze, especially when you leave the typical paths frequented by tourists. I was most recently there in August and it was *very* busy. So, we opted to meander off the mains streets until we found more quiet, secluded squares and areas away from the crowds. It was great decision that eventually led us a path along the outside of the city giving us a view of this gorgeous structure, the San Michele Cemetery.

Cividale del Friuli.
The poll asked for photos of Italy so here we go! Photo no.1 is of Cividale, a small town in north eastern Italy, and where my best friend grew up. It’s quaint, walkable, and has quite a few lovely corners to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
The region of Friuli has its own culture outside of its obvious Italian links. Beyond its own dialect of Friulano, the food and drink culture stands out in its own right. San Daniele ham is *outstanding* and the local wines made from local grapes are out of this world.
It’s a short drive from the Dolomites, Croatia & Slovenia, as well as the Adriatic coast. Visiting Venice? Rent a car or take a train to explore my the welcoming region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. You won’t be disappointed.

Who says you need to travel to the Netherlands to see fields of flowers? Although they aren’t tulips, the Carlsbad Flower Fields in California may be the next best thing, with its imported ranunculus bulbs from Holland. Come immerse yourself in a sea of vibrant colors and enjoy the beauty of spring just north of San Diego.
