I’d be lying if my eyes didn’t get a little watery today when I was surprised with this amazing custom strap my wife had a little California strap company I’ve been gushing over the least month called Couch create for me.
This definitely deserves a little backstory…
About a month ago I stumbled on this guitar strap company called Couch that I fell in love with their business model and how they create their strap, the artists that are supporting them, and overall their history.
So them being a boutique company I reach out and ask if they’ll do a custom bass strap….
The request:
- 3” wide
- Sparkling gold with white block lettering
- The letters spelling DRIZ… a little shoutout to the one and only Dan Steinmetz, a nicknamed he has cemented.
Well, this was about 3 weeks ago and there was definitely some back-in-forth…. which at first they had to decide if they would do it, then they said it looks like they could but they’d have to get back to me in about a week, and finally like a week ago they said it all looks good. but they are having an issue with their lettering, the “Z” to be specific and so it’s gonna take a couple weeks and they’ll get back to me.
So I was standby.
while all this was going on however my wife had been in contact with Couch as well, knowing that I had reached out to them, she decided to intercept and i an team effort with Matt there they had devices this story to lead me on.
so that she could pay for it, have me believe the can was being slowly kicked down the street, until today when BLAM!
And here it is in all its glory.
