I photographed Liz on the way to see Caleb for the first time in a year, and the whole thing felt like the quiet before a movie scene.

Military homecomings are wild because the biggest moment is obvious, but the moments right before it? That’s where all the feeling lives.

That’s what I wanted to photograph. Not just the reunion, but the anticipation of it.

the quiet moments. I’m also
staying for the chaos.

Wedding galleries shouldn’t just be soft, minimal, and beautiful. I think social media has us so consumed with this aesthetic that we forget the other half of the wedding is actually messy and unfiltered.

But I’ll never miss this part.

Despite all the talking videos I’ve been posting, I’m actually not much of a talker in real life.

Most of what you’ve seen is pre-written. The secret is out.

This is the more honest version of me: the quiet, the quirks, the little routines, the joy I find in ordinary life. And weirdly, that’s also where a lot of my work begins.

Wedding photography looks romantic from the outside. And sometimes it is. The wedding day is loud, full, emotional, and alive.

But most of the work happens after.

Editing alone. Answering emails. Backing up galleries. Organizing memories that aren’t mine, but somehow still stay with me.

It’s quiet work.

And honestly, that’s a big part of how I approach wedding photography. I observe more than I interrupt. I notice what’s small and I let things unfold before I try to shape them.

All of it becomes part of the memory.

Not more impressive.

A wedding day has a thousand moving parts, but the things that stay with you are usually quieter.

A look from your mom.

Your partner reaching for your hand.

The room full of people you love.

The tiny moments that somehow carry the whole day.

That’s what I care about preserving.

Not every second like evidence.

The moments that still have a pulse years later.
