I like to think of my job as capturing the memory of when my couples say “I do” to a lifetime of memories. What an emotional and sweet ceremony Jack and Abby had in the loveliest of places surrounded by the people they love the most. It was their smiles and their people that made the day so beautiful!!

The quiet moments before I do… before the guests arrive, before the music starts, before the walk down the aisle… I love the first hours of a wedding day, the hours leading up to the ceremony when I’m invited into the most intimate moments with my couples and their closest circle. The tears, the laughter, the hugs. These are the moments I’m privileged to witness because of my special role I get to fill.

One of the first things Melissa & Laura told me is that they love to cuddle, so was I surprised when they brought the coziest blanket to the beach and spent half the session cuddled up together? Not at all. Did I love it? Absolutely.

One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer in San Diego is that I get to experience the most beautiful sunsets with my couples - their first one as an officially married duo.

Even if we only have a few precious minutes to step away from the celebration for some portraits, I pause and have my couples hold each other, take a deep breath, listen to the sound of the waves, and watch the sun disappear below the horizon. In that moment, it’s not about photos. It’s about the start of a beautiful life - together.
