Getting real about why I do this. I’ve talked about it briefly on stories but have been too afraid to make it permanent since it’s not exactly my normal joyful content. Can we talk about the pressure to have a picture-perfect Pinterest wedding? Because it’s real. The photos on Instagram. The expectations from others. The comparison game. But here’s what I know from experience, the most beautiful weddings aren’t the perfect ones. They’re the honest, authentic ones. The ones where the couple is actually present instead of performing or just going through the motions. We want the messy, emotional, and hilarious. How sad would it be to look back at the most important day of your life and not even recognize it as *yours.*

So here’s your permission slip signed by your friendly neighborhood wedding photographer—

It’s okay if you don’t get matching robes.
Garter toss makes you cringe? Delete.
Rather Irish exit instead of making a fuss? Romantic.

One thing you may not know, I bring a full-on wedding day survival kit to every wedding and no joke it gets used at almost every single one 😂

Safety pins, stain remover, deodorant wipes, blister bandages, bobby pins,fashion tape, tissues, Advil, snacks, tampons, breath mints — if it can save the day, it’s probably in my bag.

It started because I genuinely hate watching couples or bridal parties stress over tiny problems that can be solved in 30 seconds.

A dress strap breaks.
Someone’s shoes are destroying their feet.
A boutonnière falls apart.
A flower girl spills juice on her dress five minutes before the ceremony.

And I’ve lived it — my own wedding bouquet unraveled seconds before walking down the aisle (swipe to see how awkwardly I had to hold it)

Wedding days move fast and little things happen constantly. I like being the kind of photographer who comes prepared for more than just taking photos.

My wedding was somewhat of a disaster. Honestly, it was all self-inflicted. I had no planner and was DIYing everything because we were on a tight budget. The one area we invested? Our photographer. And it made all the difference. You would never know the food was cold, the parking was flooded, we had dr. pepper for communion (forgot the wine) or that there was a whole rainstorm rolling in. Everything that went right, all the sweet sentimental things, were captured. And I didn’t have to worry about my photographer a single time. He had it under control. Shout out to you

If there’s one thing about me that would send most photographers in an orbit it’s that I’m going to show you the photos in my camera. Will they look as polished as they will after I edit them? No. But I can’t tell you how many times someone has felt super awkward or insecure until I show them what they actually look like in camera. They come alive after that! I’m willing to show my work if it means you get to feel more comfortable.
