As my season of life as a full-time wedding photographer comes to an end, what's been developing within me as an artist is coming to the forefront. During the loss of wedding & portrait work in the pandemic, I set out to discover beauty along the American West Coast for 30 days. Creativity & beauty poured out of me and my debut fine art coffee table book "Revealed at the Edge" has come to life.

This 560 page, coastal journey from the top of Washington state back down to San Diego, CA is an inspiring & beautiful piece of artwork. I'm hopeful as you engage with it, you'll be inspired yourself to seek beauty & live adventurously!

It's a beautiful world, full of marvelous scenes that can move your spirit & bring joy, awe, wonder, & more.

While I'm not done with weddings, this pursuit as an artist is the path I'm chasing down with my whole heart. Knowing the value of bringing beauty to the attention of the world, knowing the impact a story can make on a life, and knowing the joy in being in creation can life and change a spirit - I want to illuminate these things and share them as a photographer.

Message me for more information about the book & the project. Can't wait to chat soon!

Grateful for this short film from Lampstand Story Co

618.1 Ruby Beach, WA. “Carved by the Storms.”

An excerpt from my upcoming book (available on soon, link in bio):

It’s hard to dislike the rain, and yet I do. I don’t like my plans interrupted. My experience altered. My day ruined. My experience dampened. But without rain, without storms, we wouldn’t have growth.

I believe God designed the world with weather patterns that have cause and effect. He designed the rain cycle, the growth cycle. And so it is with us: Without the storms of life, we wouldn’t grow or be changed. Without rain, we would whither. We would become a desert. Rain brings growth. So we should welcome the rain. Welcome change in our lives. In our hearts. Welcome the hard times because they strengthen us, empower us, grow us.

The more dramatic and beautiful a landscape, the more that land has weathered and endured. It’s through the big storms that we are carved, shaped, shifted and crafted.

I believe an epic landscape is developing in my heart: one that loves, that forgives, that endures, that perseveres, that stands strong, that has grit, shape, deep wounds that tell a story, but beautiful growth that surrounds it all and offers an oasis to others.

How have the storms of your life shaped you? How have the waves carved beautiful features in the landscape of your soul?

3019.4 - Crystal Cove.

When was the last time you were a beginner? When was the last time you tried something new? Have you made yourself uncomfortable in pursuing something you’ve never tried before?

I feel like a complete beginner in completing my first book… in designing it… in writing… in talking with publishers… in creating a Kickstarter… in doing all the work to prepare this campaign. But truly, this is my first attempt. I have no idea if I’m “doing it right” but you know what: I’m doing it. Awkward step by awkward step. I’m trying something and flying by the seat of my pants to give it everything I’ve got.

So here’s to trying new things. To taking big risks. To learning as we go. To knowing it may not be perfect. And to doing it anyway.

Read more about my project and my first book with the link in my bio. There’s also a short film about my project by .co and a feature article by as well as photos by & on the site.

South Africa. June 2021. Durban to Cape Town.

& I had another truly grand adventure road tripping through the South African coastal countryside last month. We covered 3000.5 kilometers enjoying the East coast, the Wild Coast, the Sunshine Coast, the Garden Road and finished up in Cape Town.

I’m so grateful for a friend who loves the unknown and the unexpected. Who trusted me to plan a trip from start to finish. Who just showed up and went along with the grand plan of road tripping through this gorgeous country. Who pushed me to hike a little crazier hikes than I would on my own… for her willingness to help me pursue my dreams of shooting coastlines around the world on this trip… and for getting up for sunshine the majority of the trip and shooting till sunset.

While I didn’t complete the South African coastline one trip, I hope to make it back to complete what will hopefully be another book in my series of coastal journeys. And I’m stoked to share some of the beautiful, rugged, wonders of this beautiful country with you. Here are just a few quick favorites from the first day in Durban.

I’m releasing my first coastal journey book this month on for , a 30 Day Photographic Journey of the American West Coast. Visit my website (link in bio) to watch a short film about the project, read about it and sign up to join the newsletter for all the happenings to bring this project to print.

This is 37.

36 was full of beauty, full of life, full of challenges, full of friendship, full of hope, full of grace, full of love and full of perseverance.

At 36, I gratefully continued to live in my beachside apartment in San Diego.

The few fabulous friendships I’d made in SD before the pandemic continued to flourish and deepen.

I pursued a big dream and big idea after failed pivots and explored the entire West coast of America in 30 days of car camping, hiking, photographing, writing, & created my first fine art coffee table book that I’ll be releasing on Kickstarter next month.

By the grace of God, I met someone who is so very special to me now, who has dated me and pursued me in a beautiful way that’s brought a lot of joy to my life.

I traveled with my best friend amidst the chaos of travel in a pandemic and had an incredible adventure that fueled my spirit, pushed me, allowed me to see incredible places while enjoying such a fun-loving, cool, easy-going, joyful person.

My parents continued to encourage and support my dreams as I expanded into another area of photography in pursuing my landscape photography.

I photographed a handful of meaningful weddings that will forever hold a place in my heart because of how they pursued love through such a challenging year.

Amidst an insanely challenging year full of loss, tears, fear, stress, & social isolation, I kept pursuing joy in my daily life with beach time, reading, learning, photography, a little surfing, a little rollerblading, and trying to find and enjoy a little beauty in every day.

So here’s to 37 and may it be a year of walking with the Lord joyfully & faithfully, giving & receiving love, pursuing creativity, growing in my business, and the beautiful unexpected.

Sunset Cliffs. April 2021.

“I must speak of the secret things of the world I perceive as an artist in order to help the reader see the world as God the Artist intended.” -Makoto Fujimara from “Art + Faith” He goes on to say that we are, in a sense, “created in Christ to have a unique voice in understanding theology & God’s love into the margins of our existence.”

As I was filming with of .co, I was striving to distill my vision & my heart for the art I created in “Revealed at the Edge.” While I’m embarking on this endeavor, I’m refining my vision & working to sum up my heart as I’m listening, processing & working through the art of making. Planning & creating space at the same time for whatever God brings in the process.

**Revealed at the Edge Update**

It’s been a fun change of pace to work a long project. I’m thrilled to be working away diligently to bring a huge project to life. This beautiful, 550+ page Photographic Coffee Table book of my 30 Day Journey to photograph is West coast is nearing its’ Kickstart campaign launch this summer.

After talking with a variety of publishers, I chose to go to the self-publishing route because it is a better business decision for this project. With that, came the choice to take on my own final editorial choices & marketing choices. These are some of the people I chose to help me carry this project to even more beautiful possibilities.

I’ll be publishing with . Michael Shannon has been a dream to work with. He’s been prompt in discussing options, providing quotes, sending samples and aiding me in gathering all of the information I needed to make my decisions regarding the process of publication and distribution for my first photographic coffee table book.

of .co came out to direct and produce a short film on my book and project and my heart as an artist. With his directions, I created a production schedule and gathered items we needed for filming including a demo copy of my book, prints, fine art prints, scheduling hair & make up with Kandra of & then 4 days of working along this dear old friend of mine to create and refine my story.

I commissioned for my official author & artist portraits in Dallas at .studios . I’ve loved her heart since learning of her and her story. Grateful to have connected as artists and believers & thrilled to have her work to share when I’m sharing my story. Having primp & glamify me helped me put my best foot forward with my professional portraits.

Through Upwork, I commissioned to create maps of for each state to share the photographic journey I captured along the West coast. His illustrative skills & revisions refined my art direction ideas. David did an amazing job creating the maps that will be in the book to show the 220 locations I photographed.
