Per wikipedia, the women’s OLYMPIC basketball team hasn’t lost a game since 1992. Can it continue? As individuals, the USA basketball teams are above excellent. Yet, winners work as a team. Then Grey is given the ball and I see the magic in the second half with Stewart sinking buckets. This turn of events sparked the team. USA is unrivaled in the paint but Japan never relented. Saori Miyazaki was consistent with the 3-pointers; a jack knife form and a swish in the net she was a strong threat. It appeared, if Japan had a shot on the outside, they would score. An exciting and compelling finish where the battle is everything and the score is an afterthought. Congratulations the win wasn’t given - it was earned.
