A client came to me and said, "Clara, we just got a puppy and she doesn't have all her shots yet, so we can't go to a park. I still like outdoors so it may have to be a beach." Alright fine, twist my arm. I guess I will photograph this adorable puppy and her lovely family, on a beach, at sunset. What's next? Do I have to eat ice cream after the shoot? :D

A little girl whom I photograph every year just welcomed a baby sister, and to no one's surprise, she is as cute as a button. A chubby, smiley, bright-eyed little button.

I have photographed her every year since she was born, and I am so accustomed to thinking of her as a baby that when it came time to realize she is becoming a little girl, my heart tightened up a bit. Fortunately as you can see, that magical quality she always had as a baby is still there, and in spades.

So baby girl, let me say the same to you as I do my own boys, "yes grow up, but not too fast, ok?"

It was a camping weekend up North, and the air was crisp and warm. Summer was just around the corner. Three half-Chinese, half-Danish boys tumbled out of a cozy RV onto a California beach, and went straight to business. After all, there were bugs to catch, trees to climb, and someone ought to run around that beach... They were even kind enough to let me get in a romantic picture of mom and dad without photobombing. Our shoot ended with a spectacular sunset, and after that I put away my cameras and joined them in making S'mores.

Some people think that a maternity session is all about the belly, but I prefer to focus more on the couple - and all that love between them. After all, that is how we got here. ❤️

I think you will agree that my subject embodies the phrase "she is glowing". We had so much fun together that at times I worried about my camera shaking from laughing too hard. To top it off, there was a spontaneous reenactment of the proposal at the end that was funny, beautiful, and touching all at once. Here are the highlights. ✨

What happens when you fall in love, get married, move into a new home together, and give birth to two beautiful baby boys all in a short span of time? I would say life expands, hearts fill with love, and joy multiplies. But that's just a guess.

Here are a few highlights from a recent shoot I did for Core Society Fitness , which just opened its doors earlier this week. We shot an inspirational portion at Jack London Square, with water all around and the sunset as our backdrop. Then we shot an indoor portion to show the brand new studio and to illustrate what Megaformer Pilates looks like.

When we were discussing what poses to photograph, I gave them this criterion, "let's do stuff that I can't do." Well, that turned to be just about everything so we never ran out of poses. :)
