Milou And Olin Photography Caroline of Milou + Olin Photography is an award winning international photographer based in California. Available for events worldwide. And cupcakes.

Artist Caroline Winata flows through life like her lusciously modern clientele. Wishing to life a mix-and-match of bold, fresh and dreamy-romantic concepts, she captures dreams for clients living their happily ever afters. The doors to her northern California studio open to her world where, along with namesake and best puppy friend Milou, you might find Caroline obsessing over design, gorgeous, randomly-discovered light, finding happiness in obscure moments, and traveling the world fashionably and fabulously.

“Olin” (as her friends call her) also loves chunky cocktail rings, dog-friendly beaches, and vibing with friends, especially over sumptuous sashimi. Never forget the cupcakes. Caroline appears in dozens of special, happy places, like Martha Stewart, Bride’s Magazine, The Knot, Style me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, and PhotoPro Magazine. She was also named one of Rangefinder Magazine’s Top 30 Rising Stars in 2012.

Your headshot might be quietly costing you. 🤍

A headshot answers one question — what do you look like? A personal brand portrait answers a completely different one: Can I trust you? Are you worth what you charge? Are you the expert?

"I take terrible pictures" is usually the first thing they say.

Not because it's true. Because they spent years looking at photos that weren't made for them — snapped, not directed. Caught off guard, not guided.

They came in for a dating profile session and told us upfront they are nervous.
New territory.
Not sure what to expect.

They left saying it was the best money they had ever spent.

Hair and makeup handled.
Every pose guided.
Not once did they have to wonder what to do with her hands, where to look, or whether any of it was working — because we showed them the back of camera. They saw themselves, and they were stunned.

They walked in self-conscious. They walked out with portraits they'll be using for their dating profiles, their office wall, and a set they'll be gifting to their mother.

That's what happens when someone is actually directed — not just photographed.

If you've been putting it off because you think you're not photogenic, comment MOREINFO and we'll send you everything you need to know about your own session.

She brought the one who knows her best.

Not the polished version. Not the 'ready for the room' version. The one who curls up next to her at 11pm and still thinks she hung the moon.

There's something quietly revealing about photographing a woman with her animal. The posture shifts. The jaw softens. The part of her she usually keeps composed — it surfaces, unhurried, real.

That's the portrait worth hanging on a wall.

The ones who walk through life with us deserve to be in the frame.

You will never be left standing there wondering what to do. 🤍

We tell you where to look, where to stand, when to soften your jaw and drop your shoulders. All you have to do is arrive. You're not the problem — an undirected camera is.

The branding images your business actually needs — and why most libraries are missing half of them.

A headshot of you is a starting point. What builds trust, converts clients, and holds a brand together is the full picture.

Save this.
Screenshot it.
Send it to your team before your next session.

"I never know what to do with my hands." You don't have to. 🤍

Being photographed well isn't a big dramatic pose. It's small, quiet direction — the way your hair falls, a slight turn toward the light, a breath out right before the frame. That's the whole difference between stiff and a portrait that feels like you.

Motherhood photographs don't have to look the way you think they do.

There's a version of this that isn't about perfectly coordinated outfits or everyone looking at the camera at the same time. It's quieter than that. A hand resting on a shoulder. The way they look at you when they think you're not watching. The version of you that exists specifically in relation to them — confident, present, unhurried.

That's the one worth commissioning.

So many women hold off on portraits until the children are older, or the house is cleaner, or they've lost the weight, or life slows down. None of those things are the point. The point is right now, exactly as it is — curated, crafted, and preserved before this particular version of your life moves on without a record.

Which image from this session would you have on your wall? Tell us in the comments.

"I'm so awkward in photos." I hear it before almost every session. 🤍

Knowing how to pose isn't your job — it's mine. You just have to show up.

Your headshot isn't outdated because you changed your hair.

It's outdated because you changed — and the woman in those photos hasn't caught up yet.

We hear this constantly: a new service offering, a title shift, a chapter that closed and opened again. The images stayed the same. The business kept moving. And somewhere in that gap, showing up online started to feel like wearing someone else's name tag.

The Milou and Olin Signature Edit is built for exactly this moment. Not a quick refresh — a fully directed, curated portrait experience where we do the work of translating who you are right now into imagery that leads with warmth, presence, and unmistakable credibility.

No posing anxiety. No guesswork. We guide every frame.

If your current images no longer feel like you, comment MOREINFO and we will send you everything you need to book your session.
