Spring is such a fun time for birthdays, family celebrations, and all the reasons to get everyone together 🎉🌸🌿

These are the kinds of days that go by so quickly, and I love capturing both the big moments and the little in-between ones you don’t want to forget. My approach is always a mix of candid moments, key portraits, and the details that help tell the full story of the day.

Spring is one of the best times for family photos. The weather is beautiful, the kids can move around and have fun, and the whole session feels a little more relaxed.

I love capturing both the smiling-at-the-camera portraits and the candid moments in between, because those are often the ones families end up loving most.

Sometimes the best moment isn’t the toast or the group photo. It’s the kid who finds the DJ booth and decides he’s running the show while the party spins on around him.

Joanne’s 65th birthday at Ancora Vino in San Jose had that energy. Real conversations over wine, the kind of laughter that fills a room, hugs that linger, and all those little in-between scenes that actually tell the story of the night.

When I photograph events, I’m not just clicking through a shot list. I’m watching for the feeling, the vibe, the moments that pull you right back to exactly how it felt to be there.
