Yosemite in May. The meadow grasses still lying down after the winter snow and green pushing its way through. And then, the trees! It was almost like fall - spent a lot time with this one - the new leaves appeared almost pink against the granite. Beautiful!

Thanks to and for a great week! Maybe I’ll post a dogwood…but no promises!

This tree captivated me with its flowing lines and prominence in the landscape. It took me three trips out to capture it in a way that felt fitting and I’m not sad at all about the time spent with this beauty!

A burn exposes shapes difficult to see when a forest is fully formed. This tree stood alone after the fire, strong and angled. I wonder what had been that necessitated this approach?

Headed to San Diego this weekend to celebrate that 'All In' was selected to be a part of the Art Scene West Gallery Exhibition December 14-January 31st.

I took this photo at Harvey Bear Park in Morgan Hill, CA and it is part of a new collection of images that speak to the hope and resilience I see in trees along my walk with my dog, in my travels and out hiking.

Here is a bit from my statement about the project created through the National Park Photography Expeditions mentorship program:

"Trees and forests are elements of the natural world I treasure. I often find myself looking at a tree and wondering about the life that existed before I arrived. I find beauty in their bending and bowing, their stretching to reach for the sun, and most powerfully, in how they have chosen to push themselves to survive. I see trees as symbols of hope and resilience. Through observing the shape of a tree and its surroundings, I find inspiration to celebrate the beauty that emerges as I respond to challenges."
