Today I am especially grateful

For the family that said "yes" to organ donation on their worst day, for the donor who gave my son life

For the surgeons, doctors, NPs, nurses, nutritionists, anesthesiologists, pharmacists, phlebotomists and countless other medical professionals that will forever be a part of our family for working hard to keep my boy alive

For my mother, who dropped everything to raise my big girl when I couldn't be there, who sat with my sick baby in the hospital when my husband and I needed a break....we couldn't have gotten through it all without her

For my husband who stayed steady and strong through the worst times of our life

For my daughter, who was so patient and flexible during every hospital stay or emergency we've ever gone through with her brother

For my son, who has endured more medical trauma than most of us could ever imagine....and is still the biggest ray of sunshine ☀️

Happy 5 year liver transplant anniversary sweet boy!! Life is so much better with you in it ♥️♻️

So technically it's spring, but before I move on with my feed let's just release a collective New England sigh over what a winter we had 🫠. I love snow, I do, but I found myself wanting to take back my wish for a "real" winter like we used to have when I was a kid. February almost broke me.... ALMOST. March is doing it's crazy old part winter part spring with some summer days mixed in thing and I'm just rolling with it.
Here's some winter joy with this adorable maternity session I did! So looking forward to seeing this crew again in warmer weather and with a new bundle of joy.

Time for a little "meet the photographer"!
🐔I grew up in the city, but now I live in the burbs with 17 (last time I checked) chickens.
📚I'm homeschooling my kids, and loving.... most all of the minutes of it 😂
🧶 I'm in my granny hobbies era. Knitting, gardening, and drinkin tea
🎧I believe that listening to audiobooks counts as reading
🍟You may read all of this and think I'm crunchy...but you would be wrong
😬I have VERY FEW photos of my family up in my house 🤫
🇳🇴 If I could choose anywhere to travel right now, it would probably be Norway

Cape Cod family photos on the Brewster flats ✨
THIS is what an extended family session with me is like. Yes, I take the big group photo...but then we run around and play and I treat it like a mini session event, giving each family time for lifestyle portraits. I did so many extended family sessions this year and I had fun at every single one of them. Every family came ready to connect and be playful. So many times I left hearing comments like "wow, that was actually really fun!". I love bringing a fresh perspective to photography sessions that a lot of photographers (including myself in the past!) would be hesitant to take on. I've honed a system to keep these sessions feeling light and fun while still getting photos of all the desired groupings. This is the same vibe I bring to every session! Feel awkward and are not sure what to do? I've gotchu. Ready to be playful and just dive right in to bring yourself? Love it.
