It's snake season! When I'm out biking, this is how I carefully relocate rattlesnakes from the trail. Let's respect their space and remember they have just as much right to be there as we do. We are recreating in their home so give them space and please keep your dogs on leash while hiking 🐍

Carrizo Plains from last weekend with 🌼 🐍 this might be one of the prettiest rattlesnakes I’ve ever seen not to mention the side blotched lizard!

As some of you may know my little Transit Connect was rear ended and totaled….I needed a replacement and decided it was time to try out a turbo diesel! After hours of reading I realized I didn’t want DPF or DEF so I landed on this 2006 Sprinter 2500 140WB. I’m the second owner and it’s got low miles for its age but that’s not to say it’s perfect…
I decided to go all in and replace everything I could/should which included: water pump, all coolant hoses, all charge piping, turbo resonator upgrade, oil change, coolant flush, glow plug control module and a bunch of other odds and of course had to get it on rubitreks! I’ve got all new door hardware to get the rear and sliding doors operating as they should. The end goal is to have a video production van that we can also sleep in if we need to but it’s not going to be a camper van. I still need to carry bikes, dirt bikes and lots of camera gear so it’ll be an interesting build when it’s all said and done 🚐

Well, I didn’t intend to buy another FJ62, but sometimes it just happens. I bought my first 62 in 2010 or 2011 for $1,000. Over the years, I’ve watched them gain popularity and skyrocket in price, which made me think I’d never own another one. My friend has had this truck for many years, and owned it before that. Every few months, I’d send Andy a lowball text, and a few weeks ago he sent me a number I had to take. I thought that after selling my Tundra I’d be without a truck for a while, but I’m so stoked to have another one of these. I’ve got a mountain of work to do. It needs A LOT, and first things first, it needs a new roof. It’s got some nasty rust where the roof and A-pilars meet, so that will be something I’m going to be on the hunt for ASAP. Anyway, this will be a fun and well-documented project, and who knows, maybe it’ll get me out of YouTube retirement, haha.

I’ve been testing the new Leatherman Wave Alpha and it’s quickly become my go-to. I’ve always kept a Leatherman Wave in every vehicle I’ve owned so when the Alpha came out I knew I had to try it. The old wave was awesome but the new Alpha with the magnacut blade, G10 handles and improve ergonomics it quickly became my favorite. From trail side fixes to building campfires it’s the best tool to have on your overlanding trip!
