that I wish I’d heard before becoming one 💕

💕 They know women can be soft, emotional, beautiful and extremely capable at the same time. That I can be overwhelmed and extremely happy at the same time. I get to show them that asking for help and helplessness are two completely different things. And the toilet seat is always down.

The closeness that comes from knowing we’re all on the same team and bc of that I know each of my girls incredibly well. I’ve become the soft place they land and the strong one holding it all together and it’s forced me to find that balance within myself as well. And everyone smells good.

I know exactly what kind of home they’re coming back to. I get to decide the energy that lives within it. We’ve created sacred little rituals for our everyday like candle lit dinners ended by wishes for the next day, follow the leader dances, board games and art projects. Being happy and not having daily anxiety has given me the energy to make ordinary days special and fun. Our house has fun music and no volume control.

I can spend money on whatever genuinely makes our life easier without defending it. I’ve gotten very comfortable paying qualified people to do things I have no desire to learn or do, lol. Everyone that lives here enjoys the house being pretty. Flowers, patterns and bows everywhere 🤡 no hiding shopping bags in trunks.

I look at everything we’ve built and realize this family is already whole. It’s not a broken home at all. The broken one was when it was filled with broken door frames and screaming. This one is whole and happy and fun and silly. It’s peaceful and covered in flour and magic potions and hidden candy wrappers.

Every night is a sleepover. No one is snoring. Every counter is a beauty station but there’s no beard hair 🙃

Girl dinners and everyone wants to cook. They even like doing the dishes.

Above all else, my nervous system is regulated and the only eggshells we’re walking on are actual egg shells from whoever decided to sneak out of their bed at 5am to “cook”

Golden hour with my girls, and lately all I can think about is how fast they’re outgrowing everything they own.
That’s why I’m so excited about Neon Rebels, the new marketplace by Maisonette. It’s created specifically for kids and teens ages 7-14, bringing together 100+ brands all curated for this stage they’re growing into.

I picked out these dresses with each of their personalities in mind, and Neon Rebels made it SO easy to find pieces that actually felt like them. I love that they can all have their own style without me having to look a million places to find it.

A week ago today I turned 37.

It’s funny how the number feels so much older than I do. Every year I think, this has been my favorite one yet… and somehow each year it becomes more true.

This year I feel more grounded, more confident, and more at peace than ever. Something I would’ve never expected a few years ago. I have everything I’ve spent years quietly praying and working for. Healthy, beautiful children who are thriving. A life that feels chaotic but stable. Inspiring, exhausting but totally fulfilling. A career that continues to inspire and challenge me creatively. Friendships that make me feel seen and loved in totality. The freedom to build a life that actually feels like mine and most importantly a relationship with both self and source that’s closer than ever before.
Happiness isn’t found in having everything go according to plan and my entire life it’s only proven that further. It’s found in looking around and realizing you genuinely love the life you’ve manifested.

Here’s to 37 and some thirst traps to celebrate it 😂
