From serving our community’s four-legged family members with top-notch care and nutrition to earning major accolades—including Devon being recognized as California’s 2026 Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration—this local gem is truly something special!

Yes On Y Safer Santee

Santee is our home, and the projects that keep it safe and running need a reliable source of funding. Measure Y gives us that: a new fire station in North Santee, better roads, wildfire preparedness, and investment in our infrastructure. One cent, ten years, and every dollar stays in Santee.

Yesterday was such a beautiful, picture-perfect day for the Santee Lakes Halloween Spooktacular! 🎃👻
I had a wonderful time capturing all the incredible costumes, big smiles, and community fun for the East County Community Times. A huge shoutout to everyone who put together that amazing pirate ship—it was such an awesome highlight of the event! It was truly a packed event full of laughter and great memories!

🚨 SANTEE RESIDENTS: WHO IS REALLY PAYING FOR THE NO ON MEASURE Y SIGNS?

The No on Measure Y signs are appearing all over Santee, and residents deserve transparency about who is funding this campaign.

If these signs are being paid for by individuals or a group working together, the question is simple: Are the campaign spending and disclosure requirements being followed?

Here is what concerned residents can do:

📸 Photograph the signs from public property.
📍 Record the date and location.
🔎 Note whether a “Paid for by” disclosure appears on the sign.
📋 Help document the number, sizes, and designs of the signs.

California has campaign finance and advertising disclosure laws. Whether those requirements apply depends on who paid, how the campaign was organized, and how much was spent. Those facts should be verified, not guessed.

This is not about silencing anyone’s right to oppose Measure Y. Everyone has that right. It is about transparency and making sure the same rules apply to everyone, regardless of which side of Measure Y they support.

If the campaign is properly funded and reported, the records should help answer these questions. If there are concerns, the evidence should be presented to the appropriate authorities for review.

Santee residents deserve facts, transparency, and accountability from BOTH sides.

🚨 SANTEE DESERVES FACTS — NOT FEAR!

Transparent Santee is at it again, telling residents that Measure Y could add thousands of dollars to their household budgets over 10 years. But let’s look beyond the dramatic headline and ask some important questions!
📌 A list of possible expenses is NOT the same as proof of what the average family will pay.
✔️ One penny on the dollar means 1% on taxable purchases. Spend $100 on taxable goods, and the additional tax is $1. Spend $10,000, and it is $100. That’s the math.
✔️ Not everything is taxed. Qualifying groceries, prescription medications, baby formula and other exempt items shown on my flyer are not subject to this additional sales tax.
✔️ Buying something once is not the same as paying that amount every year. Listing a car, furniture, appliances, tires and dozens of other purchases does not establish what an average household will actually pay. To make that claim, show us the assumptions, the number of purchases, and the calculations.
✔️ And what about what Santee stands to gain? Better-maintained roads, safer neighborhoods, parks, infrastructure and investment in public safety all matter to the people who live here.
Of course, nobody wants to pay more taxes. I understand that. But I also believe we have to look at the cost of maintaining our city and what happens if we don’t invest in it.
I’ve lived in Santee my whole life. I’ve seen where we’ve been, how far we’ve come, and why we cannot afford to let our community slip backward.
Residents deserve to know who is behind the pages presenting themselves as a source of information and to judge the claims by the evidence.
Don’t just accept a scary headline. Ask for the actual math. Check the facts. Look at both sides.
I’m supporting Measure Y because I believe Santee is worth investing in. This is about more than a penny — it’s about the future of our community.

Wow, what an incredible night at the Santee Brews & Bites Festival Fundraiser! 🍻🍔
It was fantastic seeing our community come together for great food, drinks, and a wonderful cause. Big thanks to all the volunteers, vendors, and guests who made it such a success!

True transparency isn't about throwing up hundreds of signs or posting nasty comments on neighbors' pages and deleting them when you get called out.
Tony Shepherd seems to think scrubbing his timeline means he's above accountability. Santee residents see right through the "Transparent Santee" label. Real leaders stand by their words—they don't run around trying to rewrite history when people start catching on.
