Photo Tip - Not every landscape photo needs to be horizontal. If you shoot it just one way that's going to be your best shot only because it's your "only" shot. Try shooting both horizontal and vertical and then pick the "best" one to share.

Photo Tip - When shooting weddings sometimes unique angles can provide for some great shots like this one looking over the Pastor's shoulder while the bride is focused on what is being said.

One from my archives. This is from when I used to shoot a lot of rock concerts on film. If memory serves me right I shot this with 1600 ISO film pushed to 6400 ISO, 70-200 f2.8 at 1/125 sec.

Photo Tip - Consider Panning! Shooting at a slower shutter speed like 1/30th - 1/15th of a second can be a great way to enhance your fast action sports and wildlife photos. You'll need to track your subject, focusing can be a challenge and it can take some practice but when you get it right it can be spectacular!

Photo tip - Get Creative! Try a different lens or unique angle. Trying new and different lenses, like this fish eye lens I used while shooting a rock concert at Red Rocks, can be really challenging but worth it to get that unique look. Also try getting up high or down low and exploring different angles while shooting.

Photo Tip - To achieve the cotton candy wispy effect by showing the motion of water use a slow shutter speed like this. I shot this in North Carolina on a cloudy day using a slow ISO like 50 or 100, stopping down the lens to f16 or f22 with a polarizing filter and neutral density filter to reduce the amount of light coming through the lens. This resulted in a really slow shutter speed of about 1.5 to 2 seconds. You can use the self timer feature to reduce camera shake instead of pressing the shutter button and some cameras will allow you to lock up the mirror before taking the picture which will also help to reduce camera shake. Of course at such a slow shutter speed using a tripod is a must! Any questions?
