Come party with us this Friday from 5-7 during Scituate Harbor’s First Friday!
“When the Sky Breathes” is a contemplative exhibition by painter Cathy McCarthy and photographer Peggy Roth Major that presents the sky as a living presence — constantly shifting, gathering, and releasing across water, land, and horizon. Through quiet, atmospheric images, their work explores moments of stillness and change, inviting viewers to pause and notice the subtle poetry of the clouds and sky above us.

My piece”Fallen “ was awarded the Librarian’s Choice award at the current Scituate Art Association Member Show now on view through Sunday at the Sctuate Town Library. Wednesday August 19th it will be hanging for a month at the Front Street Art Gallery along with all of the other award winners for a month!

AUGUST IMAGE OF THE MONTH~ “BARN LIGHT”

When i recently was up in Vermont, I had the chance to visit a farm filled with sheep, goats & chickens. I was there to help with the shearing of the sheep. I observed how the light slipped through the barn, catching its edge on the soft curls of wool and quietly revealing the sheep’s calm. I photographed them as they settled together—close, patient, waiting for the shearing. This image presents a steady rural rhythm and shares our connection to all of these beautiful living souls.
