Almost a year later I finally made it to the Climate Pledge Arena to view a large digital mural I helped create. This was taken during wildfire season here in the PNW. Finding a mostly clear landscape was a challenge but all in all I think it came out great. Huge thanks to all my models who braved the smoke with me during those weeks. And to my Mt. Baker crew for putting in the time 💯

Thanks: .wellness

I’m pleased to share these images I captured of a very talented and genuinely nice person, Artist, Alice Gosti during her Amazon artist residency.

Alice is seen here wearing two of her five “armors”. Hundreds of tiny bells and pennies make up these two pieces. The sounds created with each of her movements fill the space, creating a captivating and beautiful experience for the viewer.

Stay tuned for an artist portrait video next month.

These photos were taken at the end of a video shoot I did with Alice along with Matt Burke from at in Seattle, WA

Gratitude, it’s a practice. I can’t begin to explain how good this solo backpacking trip felt. I injured my hip pretty bad back in March and this was my first time stepping into the mountains since then. I’ve known for a long time how much being in the outdoors improves my mental health and this year has been one of the most challenging years I’ve experienced.

From reimagining my career(s) and fighting imposter syndrome, to injuring myself, to moving in with my partner only to move again two months later, to getting Covid, struggling with self worth, loneliness and depression, to going through a difficult breakup. It’s been hard to feel grounded and connected and I haven’t been to easiest person to be around because of this.

I’m not sitting here feeling sorry for myself, I’m grateful for the challenges I have faced in my 43 years. They’ve helped me grow and continue to change my relationship with myself and others. Thank you to my friends who have given advice, made me laugh, or simply listened, I am grateful to have you in my life.

This trip made me realize that I don’t want to simply be an observer anymore. I’ve made a career out of sitting back and observing the beauty in this world, similar to standing in a museum, looking at a painting. I want to step inside and be a part of the beauty. It’s all around us, we just need to allow it to wash over us. 🌊 ✨

New work for Artist in Residence, Inye Wokoma

It was an honor to work with such a gifted photographer and multimedia artist such as Inye. His family has lived in Seattle’s Central District since the 1940’s and his work is a discussion of history, community, race and identity.

The first photo in this series is a composite I made to frame Inye inside of his work in progress. He is exploring new territory as an artist and he inspired me to try something a little different.

Thank you Inye for your time, thoughts and incredible R&B playlist! 🎵 ✌🏻

My background in retouching helps quite a bit when all I have is a floor a window and some paper 🙃

I’m always excited for a cover assignment! I majored in design before switching over to photography. The only time I used Photoshop back then was to design my band’s show flyers 😂

I love shooting editorial with layout and type in mind. This one came out pretty 👌🏻

As the end of my schooling to become a LMP draws near, I find myself reflecting upon my career as a professional photographer. I’m eternally grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and everyone I’ve met along the way. Those who believed in me, those who opened doors and all the smiling faces in front of my camera lens, thank you 🙏🏻

I will continue my career in photography alongside my manual therapy practice but with a new focus on balance, wellness and community.

Cheers 🌱✨💚
