This past weekend, 6.26.26, marked 11 years of same-sex marriage federally legal across all 50 states. Hearing that reminded me of so many things.
My little photo business, which has been documenting love for 17+ years, has been recognized for closer to a decade longer…
I think back to its infancy, when I met to photograph a gay couple from Australia, two actually, who eloped in Manhattan at a similar time - one on city rooftops, the other in Central Park. A quiet gratitude of a different magnitude lived within the walls of these beautiful humans - seen and celebrated for exactly who they were, and nothing more or less than that.📷
