I’ve been getting into more liminal photography as of late—here is one of my most recent shots from late last night.

What is liminal photography? The word “liminal” comes from the Latin word for “threshold,” meaning a point of transition. They don’t have to be creepy, but they often give you a weird, nostalgic, or dreamlike feeling—like you’ve been there before, or like something just happened and now it’s gone. Liminal photography is all about capturing places that feel “in between”—like they’re caught between one moment and the next. These photos usually show empty spaces that feel familiar but also strangely off, like a school hallway at night, a closed gas station, or a quiet parking lot with no people around giving a “middle of nowhere” sense of aesthetic.

I call this one “Citgo Nights”.
