I’m honestly tired of hearing photographer horror stories and seeing people lose their hard-earned money to someone who never delivers their photos—or simply disappears after receiving payment. 💔📸
When you’re choosing a photographer, PLEASE do your research. A beautiful advertisement and a low price do not always tell the whole story. Before booking, take time to look through their portfolio (MAKE SURE ITS NOT AI). Don’t just look at one or two favorite images—look for complete galleries and consistent work. Pay attention to the quality, editing style, posing, lighting, and whether their photographs match what you’re hoping to receive.
Reviews are just as important. Read what past clients have said about their experience. Was the photographer professional? Did they communicate clearly? Did they arrive on time? Were the photos delivered when promised? Did the final gallery match the work they advertised? A trustworthy photographer should have real clients who are willing to share their experiences.
You should also receive clear information about pricing, deposits, turnaround times, rescheduling, cancellations, and what is included in your session. Never be afraid to ask questions before sending money. A professional photographer should be able to explain their policies and help you feel comfortable—not pressure you into booking or leave you confused. PS!!!! CONTRACTS. CONTRACTS. CONTRACTS.
Photography is about so much more than taking a pretty picture. You are trusting someone with your money, your time, and memories that can never be recreated. Whether it’s your baby’s first birthday, senior year, maternity photos, a family session, or another special milestone, you deserve someone who takes that responsibility seriously.
FIRST OF ALL, if you’re not choosing me just make sure to choose someone trustworthy!! This is not a “hey only book me” post. I sincerely get nightmare texts ALL THE TIME! Can I fix them yes- I could fix your images but the photographer has to give signed permission.
