A blended family, an intimate elopement, and the sweetest lakeside vows 💛

Chris and Liz didn’t just say “I do”—they said yes to building a life together with their three little ones.
Their intimate wedding on Lake Coeur d’Alene was full of meaning and love. From their daughter helping with shoes, to their six-month-old being held during the ceremony, to their son adding a little charm by dropping the rings—it was a day full of heart.
They shared their vows with close family by their side, danced on the deck of their Airbnb, and snuck away for golden-hour portraits before heading off in a limo to celebrate over dinner. The perfect ending to a deeply personal day.

The First Look on the Dock at Lake Coeur d'Alene

These days, eloping doesn’t always mean running away in secret—but that’s exactly what John and Janet did. They quietly snuck off to the Coeur d’Alene Resort for a private ceremony, keeping their plans under wraps. Their idea? To surprise friends and family with the photos and share the exciting news in the most memorable way.

Janet stood at the window of her suite, watching John make his way toward the dock below. Her heart was racing, and the smile on her face said it all. Their first look on Lake Coeur d’Alene was quiet, emotional, and full of joy.

🌎 Happy Earth Day 🌿
As a photographer who spends so much time in wild, beautiful places—this day holds a special place in my heart.

Some of my earliest memories are from the back of a Chevy van, camping with my grandma under the stars in Colorado. She’s the one who sparked my love for nature, and those simple, quiet moments shaped who I am today. Now, I hope to carry on that same tradition with my own grandkids—teaching them to slow down, soak it in, and leave the earth better than we found it.

Whether I’m photographing vows at sunrise or scouting trails with couples, I follow and share the Leave No Trace principles to protect these places we all love.

Sometimes the best adventures are the unplanned ones.

In January, I took a last-minute scouting trip to Ruby Beach on the Washington coast—and even with the winter chill in the air, it was absolutely stunning. Towering sea stacks, moody skies, driftwood scattered like art across the shoreline… it was peaceful, raw, and full of that quiet magic I’m always chasing.
There were no people in these shots—just the rhythm of the waves and the wild beauty of the coast. And honestly? That kind of calm is exactly why I love helping couples plan intimate elopements in places like this.
Whether it’s the moody mist of winter or the golden light of summer, Ruby Beach is a beautiful option year-round. If you’re dreaming of a celebration that’s just about the two of you, I’d love to help you plan a day that feels just right for this season of your life.
