We were walking through Beacon Hill in Boston, having the best time during this engagement session when a sweet woman approached us and asked him about his US military serviceā€¦And then she turned to his beautiful Fianceā€™ and asked the most loaded question ever.

Is it hardā€¦?

Queue the awkward laughter amongst all of us. And my phone actually recorded the whole conversation, I didnā€™t even realize it.

They often go unseenā€¦the wives and husbands of our military personnel and first responders. They donā€™t wear an elaborate uniform, carry fi****ms and run towards the danger. Theyā€™re the safe space they come home to. The people who bring them peace in a not so peaceful world. The unseen heroes holding up the ones in uniform.

They didnā€™t make an oath to an agency or the government, but they chose to make a promise to the ones who did, to have their six through it all. And thatā€™s a level of strength that should be admired.

I see you. & to that sweet woman, thank you for seeing the woman beside the uniform too.
