McDonald Creek - As we hiked along McDonald Creek, we could hear the roar of rushing water growing louder. Coming through the dark, shaded trail, we were suddenly greeted by a beautiful waterfall. This image captures the creek as it winds its way toward the falls. Without a tripod and with the challenging mix of deep shadows and bright sunlight, I did my best to handhold the shot at a slower shutter speed. Afterward, we sat along the rocks for a while, simply taking in the sights and sounds of Glacier National Park.

Osprey in Glacier National Park - Ospreys are one of my favorite birds of prey. They are incredible to watch in flight, but watching one plunge into the water in pursuit of a fish is something else entirely! While hiking one of our first trails in Glacier National Park, we were suddenly treated to several Osprey flyovers. Seeing this magnificent bird soaring through the sky with Glacier’s mountains rising behind it was an unforgettable sight—and honestly, a photographer’s dream come true.

McDonald Creek - The creeks and streams in Glacier National Park, fed by cascading mountain waterfalls, were absolutely stunning. The water was so crystal clear that you could see every colorful rock beneath the surface. Everything felt incredibly pristine, untouched, and pure—the kind of natural beauty that takes your breath away.

Lake McDonald Landscape - I got lucky when this mama Common Merganser and her chicks came swimming across the stunning landscape of Lake McDonald in West Glacier. The lakes were vast, and we didn’t see a ton of waterfowl during our time in the park, so coming across this little brood with those incredible mountains as a backdrop was an extra-special treat. It was an unexpected moment and made an already beautiful view even more memorable.

Glacier National Park Panorama - One of the many insanely beautiful views from on top of Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Montana. Of course, no image can fully capture the beauty of this place, but as I was editing this image, I was taken back to the effect it had on my senses. The wonder in my eyes, the awe that filled me, the cool air on my skin, the freshness in the air, and the overall calm that I felt. It is a special place that I will never forget.

St. Mary Lake - This view from St. Mary Lake greets you as you begin your climb along Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Montana. I loved the way this image captures the winding road as a few cars make their way down through the towering layers of mountains. There is something about Glacier that puts everything into perspective. Surrounded by mountains that seem to stretch endlessly into the distance, you can’t help but feel small—and somehow, all those everyday worries seem to fade away.

Looking Up on Going to the Sun Road - I’m not going to lie, Going-to-the-Sun Road had me worried. I was attempting it with a rental car, which turned out to be a pretty solid car for the trip. This was the view looking up from one of the pull-offs midway up. I love this scene. It had a little bit of everything—a mountain peak, snow, blue sky, a waterfall, beautiful green trees, and that incredible sense of wonder you feel when surrounded by a landscape like this. It was one of those moments when you simply have to stop and take it all in.

Glacier National Park - Swiftcurrent Lake — It is only fitting to make my first post from Glacier National Park feature a mountain landscape. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and I will always cherish our visit to Montana because of moments like this. This image was taken in East Glacier from a trail along Swiftcurrent Lake, where the light was beautifully illuminating the rugged peaks. We were truly blessed with incredible weather, especially knowing the park had experienced dangerous flooding just weeks before our arrival. Standing there beneath those mountains, with the light dancing across the peaks, was a moment I will never forget.

Sunset on Theodore Roosevelt National Park - The last image I’ll edit and share from Theodore Roosevelt National Park for a bit. It was an amazing park for viewing wildlife and taking in some incredible, otherworldly landscapes. It is such an underrated park, and I’m thankful we got to see it. I hope you enjoyed visiting the park through my images. I am now looking forward to loading, editing, and reliving the images I took at Glacier National Park.

Birds of Theodore Roosevelt National Park - A possible cure for the Sunday scaries is a little bird photography! I combined some bird images for my last wildlife photos from TRNP. I’ll post one more sunset before I start editing some images from Glacier National Park.
