These two could host a Masterclass on how life doesn’t always go as planned but making the best of it.
I met Kylie in 2019 as her preceptor in the ICU for her nursing senior practicum. She is such a gem of a human I knew we’d stay in contact after, and sure enough we did - from me cheering her on when she got her first RN position and again when she became an ICU RN - and being ecstatic when she asked me to photograph her wedding.
The original plan was for Kylie and Ian to elope in Mammoth Lakes hiking in the fall of 2023, but that spring she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Focusing on her health they secretly married and wanted to have a wedding and celebrate later with friends and family.
This past weekend they finally got to have that celebration - and what would you know it RAINED ALL DAY! But these two know who and what’s important in life and embraced the rain. They shared the most beautiful vows privately before their ceremony while I very quietly sobbed/photographed this cherished moment.
Life doesn’t always go accordingly to plan, but it’s lucky when the love of your life is there to help you through it and dance in the rain with you. 🖤
