Perceptive Gaze

Perceptive Gaze Behind Perceptive Gaze The daughter of an artist, I grew up surrounded by art. On weekends, my father took my sisters and me to the Boston galleries.

We looked at what contemporary artists were creating, and I was immersed in discussions about art, the creative process, and finding beauty in unusual places. Studying art history in college gave me a chance to critically consider the relationship between artist and viewer. It was then that I began looking through through the viewfinder and began to experience the artist as viewer. For the next tw

enty years, I strived as a mom and educator to help children see their individual, unique beauty. Along the way, I took photographs and collected postcards and little, every-day objects that would attract my eye. Perceptive Gaze looks for beauty in the every day... simple objects, places, and things we pass. Join me in my observations.
