A client told me recently she felt like she was “auditioning for professionalism” every time she had her photo taken.
I completely get that.
There’s this impossible standard women in leadership get handed before they ever step in front of a camera. Be polished. Be warm. Be authoritative. Be approachable. Be confident. Be effortless.
All of it, simultaneously, under bright lights, with someone staring at you through a lens. Oh, and do it in heels.
So you perform. And if you look closely at those photos, you can see it — the stress held in the jaw, the shoulders that never quite dropped. You’re not looking powerful. You’re tired of performing.
Instead of rushing you through a thousand poses, I give you the chance to breathe. I’ll lower the camera, slow things down if needed, actually listen to what you have to say. The jaw unclenches. The shoulders drop.
I want you to enjoy the experience because that is seen in the finished photograph.
