Happy ! We're excited to share that our short documentary, Freezing the Future for Wolves, is now an Official Selection of the 2026 Nature Without Borders Film Festival in the Biodiversity and Genetics category!
The Lobo (aka the Mexican Wolf) was once nearly extinct– down to 7 left in the world. Humans caused it, but humans also stepped in to save them. Fast forward to now and they're still critically endangered, but have been reintroduced to their native ranged to help restore balance to the southwestern US and Mexican ecosystems where they belong. Lobo Week celebrates their return on this day in 1998.
About the Film:
Freezing the Future for Wolves follows five women who have dedicated their lives to saving endangered wolves, collaborating to accomplish the monumental task of preventing extinction. I am deeply grateful to the Endangered Wolf Center, Saint Louis Zoo, and the Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute for trusting me to take viewers behind the curtain and under the microscope to see real conservation in action.
Currently the film is not available on any streaming platforms, but stay tuned for more info on how you can watch it soon!
