1,328 days since their inaugural home match, St. Louis City SC wins their first ever Lamar Hunt Open Cup Championship against the Columbus Crew. In addition to setting the league record for longest unbeaten streak and clinching a spot on the MLS playoffs, City SC is bringing home their first piece of silverware in dramatic fashion. Goaltender and team captain Roman Bürki was stretchered off the field with a head injury in the second half. Ben Lundt entered the match to protect our goal with the game still tied at 0-0. After two scoreless overtime halves, the championship came down to penalty kicks. Lundt comes up HUGE with a save on the first shot he faced. City went 5 for 5 on their shots to secure the win!! WE WON THE CUP!!

Ben Lundt is a big bad beast!!!! He got us into the finals and his save was the difference in PKs. WE WON THE CUP!!!!!
