Make your wedding unique & intentional ✨

When you & your partner think about your big day, what does it look like? Most people picture a white dress in a church. But if you’re like me, that’s not quite it. There are a lot of ways you can change up the traditions to make your day feel more like you, like L&C did this summer.

1. What you wear! Your wedding day is all about you & your partner. You should wear something you love that makes you feel like your best self. I loved that Lane chose a colorful embroidered floral dress. It’s something different but she rocked it so well and looked stunning. I also loved Carter’s choice of a sage green suit and a hat with a boutonniere. He also had a pterodactyl embroidered on the collar and some fun socks to finish off the look. They both looked amazing and the fits really showed their personalities.

2. Entrance or exit! Walking down the aisle is a pretty standard part of every wedding day, but there are so many ways to do it! I absolutely loved that Lane & Carter arrived to the ceremony in Carter’s truck, and then walked each other down the aisle. It was incredible and got the guests so excited. Plus it was a great photo opportunity to get those pre ceremony smiles.

3. Making the wedding day into a wedding weekend. L&C knew that one day would not be enough to get to spend time with all their guests, and they wanted the wedding day to be relaxed and not too heavy of a timeline. So they rented a lodge for close friends to stay at and had their families stay in town the weekend so they could do activities before and after the wedding. This gave them a lot more intentional time with their loved ones.

These are just a few ideas of how you can make your wedding feel different. When you start planning, jot down those ideas that may seem weird or crazy at first but remember, you should do whatever you want to do for your wedding to make it special and fun!

Sophie & Eric ✨

Pure. Joy.

It was hard to pick a few photos to show from this amazing day. Everything about this weekend was pure magic- beautiful landscape, perfect autumn weather, bringing people together, and a story of true love. What weddings are all about 💗

Sophie & Eric met in Bend, OR as Craigslist roommates. After building a friendship over a couple years they started dating and building a life together. Their wedding was held in Camp Sherman, OR at a place that embodied things they enjoy most- the forest, the river, and spending the weekend with their loved ones. After saying their vows and sharing their first kiss as a married couple, they crossed the Metolius River in their canoe 🛶 It was the coolest ceremony exit I have ever seen!

This wedding was special to me as Sophie is a dear friend of mine. We were also randomly assigned roommates in college and became fast friends. I met Eric the first time I visited Oregon when he had just moved there, and we bonded over our love of film photography. I shot a lot of film for them and I can’t wait to see what comes back from the lab! A huge thank you to them for trusting me with their memories of this day. This is what I live for 💗

Lakes? Mountains? ATV? Golden aspens? Yes please 🙌 what an epic session for these two photographers 📷💗 Twin Lakes is a special place to them and they love to ride their ATV on these trails. Couldn’t have picked a more beautiful day to be here and soak in the autumn colors 🍂

This session embodied so many things I live for- exploring dirt roads, leaf peeping, basking in the autumn sun amongst stunning mountain landscapes, and I even got to have an incredible paddle board sesh after. Super grateful to meet such awesome people and that this is my job 😭💗✨

Some film shots from one of my favorite shoots of all time ✨

Kodak portra 400 is my go-to film stock. The colors make me feel nostalgic. Film is special because you can’t immediately upload from the camera, it gets sent into a lab and scanned in which takes time. The limited number of shots on each roll makes every shot intentional. I absolutely love getting film back from the lab a few weeks after a shoot to add a little timeless magic to your gallery!

What’s your favorite film stock??

Iceland ✨

Chelsea & Ryan’s anniversary just happened and it always reminds me of their epic wedding in Iceland. We had a blast with their families exploring the southwest corner of the country.

I’m so lucky to be returning to Iceland next summer for another wedding!! Can’t wait to be back in my favorite place I’ve been. If anyone is thinking of eloping in Europe next summer hit me up. Would love to check off some new countries or do some more Iceland shoots while I’m there!!

Lane & Carter ✨

What a wonderful celebration of two very special people. A rainy morning turned into a gorgeous afternoon in Pagosa Springs where they’ve built a beautiful life & community together. After a rainy first look at the lodge we all stayed at, L&C drove to the ceremony site in their old truck and walked down the aisle together. There were many laughs, tears, and hugs.

It’s such a huge honor when friends of mine ask me to photograph their weddings. I also got to do their flowers for them 🌸 We had an incredible team of friends & family to help make this day happen and it was absolutely perfect for them! Extremely grateful to have friends like these 💗

Leah & Tanner ✨

What a fun micro wedding at the Surf Hotel! Complete with doggie ring bearers, some riverside snuggles, and the cutest couple!

I love when couples are super pumped on my style & creative process. L&T wanted me to do my thing, and I’m stoked on how these photos turned out.

A little over 3 years ago I attended a photo retreat and had some portraits taken at the Surf. 2 years ago I moved to the valley, and helped my friend Nancy do florals at a few weddings here since. L&T’s wedding is the first wedding that I photographed here.

Never give up on your dreams, no matter how long it takes or the bumps along the way. Thanks to all my clients who love my vision & style, y’all keep me on my path 💗
