We are still overwhelmed by the incredible turnout at yesterday's Bridal Expo. 🤍

The number of brides we had the opportunity to visit with, answer questions for, and hopefully help along in their wedding planning journey was truly amazing.

A few years ago, I would've told you I wanted more trips, more things, and a busier schedule.

These days, I want more sheep.
More green grass.
More sunsets.
A good livestock guardian dog.
Fresh eggs from the backyard.
And enough land to watch it all grow.

Maybe I'm getting older. Maybe I'm getting wiser.

Or maybe I'm just remembering the life I was raised in.

The older I get, the more I realize wealth isn't always measured in dollars. Sometimes it's measured in rain, pasture, livestock, and wild friday nights like these. 🤍🐑

Nobody prepared me for this era of life math.

Not geometry. Not whatever letters were mixed with numbers.

I need the math that figures out:

• how to go to the gym, work, and run errands without driving back and forth to town 14 times • we’ve been told there’s food at home our entire lives. Is it actually cheaper for me to drive home and eat now cause I’m already in town. • how to stop burning through $4/gallon fuel just trying to be productive • and how to save money for more camera gear, more sheep, and maybe someday… more land

That’s the kind of math I’m out here trying to master.

One of the things I love most about agriculture is that no matter how busy we are, we stop when the flag passes by. We take our hats off. We stand a little taller. We remember.

These photos are full of 4-H and FFA members, rodeo athletes, livestock exhibitors, and families doing what they love beneath the stars and stripes. That’s a privilege that was paid for long before any of us stepped into a show ring or climbed into an arena.

Today, we honor the men and women who gave everything for our country and the freedoms we often take for granted.

May we never forget that the opportunities we enjoy, the industry we love, and the flag in these photos all come with a cost that others paid on our behalf.

I think I’ve been doing this backwards.

I spend way too much time worrying about making the perfect post.

The perfect graphic. The perfect reel. The perfect caption.

Meanwhile, the people I actually want to help don’t need perfect.

They need answers.

I know livestock shows. I know photography. I know sheep. I know agriculture. I know small business marketing.

Maybe instead of asking, “What do y’all want me to post?” I should be asking, “What problems can I help solve?”

So tell me…
