Anybody want to trade for a photoshoot? Whatcha got?

Seriously, if it makes sense for both of us, I’m down. Let’s make a deal.

I traded pears from my orchard for a hem on some pants yesterday ✨

Take that, capitalism.

It wasn’t even a straight trade. It was just organic sharing.

Hanging around shooting the s**t with some people sewing (working on lap quilts for a Christmas giving event) and I had my pants in the car in case there was occasion to learn.

It came up. They were happy to help. And I made sure to give them some of the pears I brought for my friend.

And they offered to help again in the future if needed.

It’s not amazing work. But I was intimidated to do it myself.

Seeing how someone else who’s comfortable with sewing did something and felt confident about it helped me reset some of my own expectations of myself to try something that I know won’t be perfect in the future
