One of the most special parts of what I do is being welcomed into people’s lives during some of their biggest moments.

Just two years ago, I was photographing this beautiful couple as they prepared to welcome their first baby. And now, here we are again, except this time that little baby is running around, stealing the show, and getting ready to become a big sister. 💗

It’s kind of crazy to think that so many of my clients start off as complete strangers, and then somehow I get invited back again and again to document new chapters of their lives.

The weddings, the pregnancies, the babies, the growing families… THAT part will never get old for me.

And getting to watch this family grow from three to four? So incredibly special. 🥹

Baby boy, you are already so loved. 💙

K + J understood the assignment. 🖤💍

A little romance, a little editorial, and a whole lot of “yeah, we’re getting married.” These two made their engagement session look way too easy.

And I have to say, adding little video moments like these during sessions has quickly become one of my favorite ways to tell a little more of the story. 🎥✨

I posted the reel on how I captured this fun wedding send off highlighting the bubbles and optical light wand, but the photos deserve their own moment.

Because THIS is exactly why I loved this combination so much.

The bubbles caught the light, the wands created so much movement, their people were having the absolute BEST time… and somehow it all matched these two perfectly: bright, bubbly and so much fun. 🤍

And a little photographer tip if you’re planning a send-off: don’t rush through it! Take your time, stay close to each other, look around, laugh, kiss and soak it all in. Give your photographer a chance to capture more than just one walk-through.

Also… swipe to the end because obviously we needed the kiss. 😂🫧

This bubble + optical wand send-off was SO much fun and such a cute way for these two to end their celebration surrounded by their favorite people. 🤍🫧

And from a photographer’s perspective? Combining the two works beautifully.

The bubbles add movement and texture throughout the frame while the optical wands bring in that extra pop of light, especially once the sun goes down.

A little wedding photography tip: Whatever send-off you choose, give your photographer a few minutes to get everyone positioned and ready before you make your exit. Then take your time walking through it! Don’t sprint. 😂 Walk slowly, stay close, look at each other, kiss, celebrate and actually enjoy the moment.

You only get to make that exit once… but I may absolutely make you walk through it twice. 📸😂

A surprise proposal at Stappa Vineyard 🍇💍 and Kaylee had absolutely NO idea what Sean had planned.

Surrounded by the beautiful vines at Stappa Vineyard in Connecticut, Sean had everything waiting for her: white florals, ch*****ne, a gorgeous setup and, of course, one very important question. 🥹

She said YES! 💍🤍

After the surprise, we wandered through the vineyard capturing their first photos as an engaged couple, the ring, the ch*****ne toast and all those little “wait… we’re actually engaged!” moments.

This is why I LOVE photographing surprise proposals. You’re not just documenting the moment someone gets down on one knee. You’re capturing the nerves beforehand, the completely genuine reaction and everything that happens once the surprise finally sinks in.

This is your sign to DRESS UP for your engagement session. 🔥

Because excuse me?! They came to Hartford City Hall and absolutely understood the assignment.

The red dress. The tux. The historic architecture. But more than anything, THEM. Their connection came through in every single frame. The confidence, the closeness, the way they naturally fell into each other… I barely had to ask for it.

And this is why I always tell my couples that your engagement session can be so much more than “practice” for your wedding photos.

Make it a whole experience.

Put on the dress you’ve been waiting for an excuse to wear. Have him pull out the suit. Get your makeup professionally done 😉 because listen… this is the occasion. Choose a location that feels elevated. Go to dinner afterward. Make a whole date out of it.

You’re engaged. That alone is worth dressing up for. 🥂

And if you’re wondering whether you can show up to your engagement session looking like you’re headed to the Met Gala…

Okay, I completely understand the Ocean House obsession now. 🤍

We recently photographed this engagement session in Watch Hill, Rhode Island and made our way to the iconic Ocean House, and between the coastal views, gorgeous gardens, hydrangeas and classic New England architecture… there was literally no shortage of beautiful places to photograph.

What I loved most was the variety.

One minute we were surrounded by the most beautiful coastal scenery, the next we were tucked into the gardens, and then we had that unmistakable yellow Ocean House backdrop. 😍

For couples planning an Ocean House wedding or dreaming about engagement photos in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, this entire area is absolutely stunning.

And personally? I’d happily photograph here over and over again. 🤍

There’s just something about engagement photos by the ocean. 🤍

We headed to the Rhode Island coast for this engagement session and between the ocean breeze, bare feet in the sand, and these two just being completely themselves together… this one was GOOD. Soooo GOOD.

And can we talk about the all-white for a beach engagement session?! 😍 So simple, so timeless, and absolutely perfect against the blues and neutrals of the coast.

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting the chance to slow everything down. No wedding-day timeline. No guests waiting. Just the two of you, hanging out, loving on each other, and getting comfortable in front of my camera before the big day.

Buttttt this wasn’t the only stop we made during their Rhode Island engagement session. 👀

A little rain was NOT stopping this proposal. 🌧️💍

Okay… maybe it was more than a little rain. 😂 We had rain, thunder, and plenty of moments where we weren’t quite sure if the weather was going to cooperate.

But it was so worth every single raindrop.

She said YES. 🤍

And afterward, instead of fighting the weather, we embraced it. Out came the clear umbrella (so glad I always have one or 7 on my car) and we wandered through the gardens, taking full advantage of just how beautiful everything looked after the rain. The greens were greener, the flowers were glowing, and everything felt so lush and romantic.

Proof that your proposal doesn’t need perfect weather to be absolutely beautiful.

Sometimes you just grab the umbrella and make the most of it. ☔️🤍

Tyler had done his homework! He knew exactly where he wanted to propose and had even scouted the location ahead of time. The plan was set, but there was just one tiny problem… there was barely any service in the gardens, so texting him was completely out of the question. 😂😅

For a good 20 minutes, I followed them around like a total creeper, pretending to photograph the flowers and scenery while trying my best not to look suspicious. Eventually, I approached them and said, “Hey! It looks like you’re one of the only couples here. Would you mind if I took a few photos of you?”

That’s when Tyler casually suggested the exact spot where he wanted to propose. I was a little nervous because when I had checked it out earlier, the ground looked pretty muddy. But thankfully, I was wrong, Tyler was right, and everything worked out perfectly.

She said YES! 💍 And he proposed with her grandmother’s absolutely gorgeous ring, which made the moment even more meaningful.

It was definitely a hot summer day, but these two handled it like champs, and I’m so happy I got to document the beginning of this beautiful new chapter for them. Congratulations, Tyler and his beautiful fiancée, Emma! 🤍
