The season may be over… but the story is still being written.

From the flooded timber to the quiet mornings before sunrise, filming for Calls of the Low Country continues as we capture the passion, tradition, and soul behind the hunt.

This documentary is more than ducks and decoys — it’s about the people, the culture, and the Lowcountry way of life.

Rare Friday with nothing booked, nowhere to rush, and finally getting to slow down with my favorite breakfast.

Egg, cheese, and Taylor Ham on a rosemary salt bagel with an iced coffee and a little sunlight through the window. Sometimes the best mornings are the quiet ones. 🥯☕️✨

The house is starting to breathe.

Long days, heavy atmosphere, and a whole lot of controlled chaos bringing The Hag Awakening to life at Loundes Grove. From quiet moments between characters to building tension one frame at a time, this shoot has been unreal to document.

There’s something different about watching a story slowly become real inside locations like this. The silence between takes almost feels louder than the dialogue.

Behind the scenes as set photographer + art direction on a project that’s becoming darker and more beautiful every day.

Day 1 in the works 🎬

Split between worlds today—art directing the details you’ll feel but never notice, and capturing the moments you’ll never see behind the scenes. From set builds under these massive oaks to sneaking in shots between takes… this is the magic before the magic.

There’s something about the first day—equal parts chaos and clarity—that reminds you why you love it. We’re just getting started.

Rainy Wednesday, but we’re still dripping… just with maple instead of rain. 🍯🔥

Stacked, soaked, and absolutely unapologetic. This is what comfort looks like when the skies go gray. Pancakes hitting that golden hour glow while everything outside feels slow.

More food photography - better excuses to indulge on the finer things in life!

Getting to wear two hats on this one 🎬📸 — Art Director and set photographer.

What most people don’t see is that production starts long before “action” is ever called. It lives in the details, the prep, the messy tables, and the insanely talented hands bringing ideas to life.

These are some behind-the-scenes moments with our special effects makeup team building out prosthetics… turning imagination into something real (and a little unsettling in the best way).

This is just the beginning — a lot more coming over the next month 👀

Why a CPL Filter is a Total Game Changer 📸

If you’re not shooting with a CPL (Circular Polarizer) yet… you’re honestly leaving magic on the table.

This one small piece of glass can completely transform your images in-camera—no editing tricks needed.

First off, it cuts glare and reflections. Shooting through water? Glass? Car windows? Boom—clarity. You can actually see what’s beneath the surface instead of fighting reflections.

Then there’s the sky…
A CPL will deepen blues and make clouds pop in a way that just hits different. It adds contrast naturally, especially during those bright mid-day shoots when everything usually looks washed out.

It also boosts color saturation—greens get richer, tones feel more alive, and your images instantly look more polished without cranking sliders in post.

And one of my favorite uses?
👉 Controlling reflections on skin and surfaces during outdoor portraits. It gives you cleaner highlights and more balanced tones.

The best part: you just rotate the filter and watch the scene change in real time. It’s like having a live editing tool on your lens.

Quick tip:
CPLs work best when you’re shooting about 90° from the sun. That’s where the effect really shines.

If you shoot landscapes, beach, cars, or even outdoor portraits… this is one of those tools that once you use it, you won’t go back.

Textures of the Lowcountry — painted by the tide.

There’s something about Pitt Street Bridge that always pulls me back in… the way the marsh shifts, the lines change, and the light hits just right.

From above, it feels even quieter — like the world slows down for a second and lets you just see it.

This place never gets old, no matter how many times I fly it.

A little chaos, a little sweetness… and a whole lot of magic ✨

Caught this moment right as the sugar hit midair—because sometimes the best shots are the ones you can almost taste.

Moody light, fresh berries, and a dusting of perfection… this is why I love creating in the studio 🍓
