Wildlife Swansday - Life is good watching these little ones grow. Did you know the baby swans are known as cygnets for the first year, and after about a year, the young birds begin transitioning into adulthood. Adult swans are then specifically referred to as Cobs for males and Pens for females. !

Wildlife Wednesday - Life is good making a new friend while exploring a place for the first time; and a bonus when the new friend has two kids who also want to say "hi"!

Wildlife Wednesday - Since "Life is Gooder" in the Summer months AND the first day of Summer begins in just a few days, thought it would be appropriate to share a few pictures of a Summer Tanager. This was my first time seeing this type of bird for me, so quite the neat capture. Hope you enjoy seeing this bird...and your summer is awesome, as well!

Wildlife Wednesday - What's the difference between a gnat and a fly? Not really sure, but micro-photography is in the future plans so will get back to you on that later. And as you can see in the last picture, there are going to be some little flycatchers soon...

Wildlife Wednesday - The warblers might have moved on to the north, but I am still celebrating the short time I was able to spend with them. This week, hope you enjoy the Chestnut-sided, Mourning, and Canada Warblers.

WildWARBLERlife Wednesday - Since numerous warblers have been migrating through the Midwest for the past month, thought it would be appropriate to feature a few more of these cool little birds. This week, we have Nashville, Tennessee, and Palm Warblers. A special shout out to my mom for sharing her trees (and Tennessee Warblers!) while I took pictures and procrastinated with the yard work.

WildWARBLERlife Wednesday - Since various warblers have been migrating through our area, thought it would be appropriate to feature some of these cool little birds over the next several weeks. Many warblers have yellow feathers, but only one of these is actually known as a Yellow Warbler. The others this week include the Prothonotary Warbler and the Wilson's Warbler.
