I’m sooo giddy to finally share these - another project that was a highlight this year!

Sloan Hunter reached out to me in September - she needed some updated headshots for her upcoming book: REcoding the Real Estate Experience - The Mindful Guide for Buyers & Sellers.

Sloan and I worked together at Windermere Abode. I always appreciated her wealth of knowledge from decades of experience in both real estate and life. She never hesitated to take time to answer my real estate questions as a newbie who knew very little about the industry. I appreciate that we’ve stayed in touch and her unwavering support.

It truly was such an honor to be invited to her lovely home & set up for this portrait session. It’s such a gift to be a part of her new project.

As I wrap up 2025, I’m finally sharing a few joyful moments from earlier this year that I never got around to posting.

Back in July, I had the honor of photographing a very special Army retirement celebration at Farm 12 in Puyallup. After 15+ years of service, Matt was surrounded by close family and friends — exactly how his wife, Leslie, envisioned it when she reached out.

Throughout the evening, Matt shared heartfelt stories from his time in the Army, including the sacrifices and hardships he and Leslie navigated together while raising their family.

What stayed with me most was the way they looked at each other while speaking — full of love, pride, and deep understanding.

There were smiles, laughter, and a few tears too. The kind of moments that don’t need anything extra, just someone there to quietly witness and preserve them.

For events like this, I’m always reminded what a gift it is to be a stranger in a room full of folks and witness a glimpse of their lives.

Thank you, Matt, for your many years of service — and thank you to this family for trusting me to document such an important chapter.

A few Autumn snaps around Seattle last week between content sessions. 📸

I’m becoming quite aquatinted with public park restrooms around Seattle neighborhoods and I’m thankful they all exist.

Gasworks Park has a decent restroom with great views of the Space Needle. ✈️

Ballard Locks is my most used park restroom + space to stretch my legs while looking at flowers still in bloom, watch the Double-crested Cormorants fishing, seals, fish, herons, eagles, and boats passing through. They have a large pumpkin on display right now. 🎃

Golden Gardens Parks wins for best fall foliage right now as the entire hillside is popping off 🍂 (if the gale-force winds didn’t destroy it this weekend 🥴)

The summer I…

✨ Drove to Seattle every Thursday for work
✨ Spent Fridays editing from the couch
✨ Worked some incredible events
✨ Created content with amazing people
✨ Explored new neighborhoods, eateries & parks
✨ Took breaks at the beach to chase low tide & sunsets
✨ Photographed birds (always 🦆)
✨ Bought a last-minute ticket to see Lady Gaga 🎤
✨ Drove up to Mount Rainier to see the Milky Way 🌌
✨ Filmed everywhere from condos to luxury homes—even on a boat (and didn’t get seasick!) 🚤

This was the busiest summer I’ve ever had—but also one of the most inspiring. Full of creativity, adventure, and memories I’ll carry forward.

We’ll always have summer. ☀️

Backyard birds of August.

As August comes to an end I thought I’d share all the birds that have popped up this month, specifically in the last week - which has been the most active with new visitors!

The combination of neighboring apple and pear trees, along with overgrown blackberry bushes, all sorts of warm weather bugs, and flowing bird baths with fresh water and fountain have drawn lots of feathered visitors. I’m going through more bird food right now than ever keeping up with the demand of hungry mouths to supplement the food supply.

Here’s a wrap up of visitors: Black-headed Grosbeak, a Warbling Vireo that found a tasty grasshopper snack, female Western Tanager, Willow Flycatcher, Yellow Warbler, lady American Goldfinches enjoying gossiping at the local watering hole, Bewick’s Wren, a single Bushtit, a Warbling Vireo taking flight, Red-Breasted Nuthatch working on winter food storage, Warbling Vireo taking a break from foraging (there have been 3 visitors), female American Goldfinches picking bugs off the plum trees, a Gull with a piece of bread (no idea), Warbling Vireo because I think they’re so pretty, a female House Sparrow, an exhausted male House Sparrow who’s fed up with his kids bothering him to be fed when they can feed themselves, and another Willow Flycatcher. These birds come out in the evenings when all the bugs are flying around.

Snowy Plovers on the beach. 🌊

Thank you Cara with the Bird Alliance of Oregon for the educational interpretive walk to view the Snowy Plovers (lifer). I learned so much and it was a great way to spend my last day on my coastal vacation!

I also got to watch a Herring Gull enjoying a crab, a group of Caspian Tern (lifer), and a few Sandpipers.

We were lucky to have no rain, however for me personally the wind made it very challenging to get some sharp images, even while using a tripod and a 800 mm lens ~ but I still had a great time spotting these little birds with everyone and chatting.

A warm summer night up at Sunrise - Mount Rainier, where the Milky Way rises behind Mt. Tahoma and the stars paint the sky.✨

It will always be fascinating to me that we live on a floating rock in a vast universe and if we seek the darkest night sky, we can see a whole other world that exists beyond us. It truly puts me in the moment and makes me remember just how small we are.

Astrophotography isn't for the faint of heart though. It takes a lot of work to capture images like this and I definitely don't know what I'm doing, but I always try to capture something worthy for all to see. It requires driving through a dark forest 2 hours away to make it to a location at midnight. Driving along the edge of a mountain side that you can't see brings on a panic attack for me.

But you know what's really brave? Seeing the small glowing lights moving across the mountain as hikers make their way both up and down. I'm not much of a risk taker and that's proof here because I stayed in the parking lot to get these. I'm quite clumsy and I know the trails around the mountain would sn**ch me alive. So I play it safe and fight the car lights coming in and out.

These 3 images were captured between 12 - 1:30 AM. Yes, that means I did get home at 3:30 AM and yes I slept in until 11 AM. My dream in life is to have a camper van to make bird and astrophotography easier someday.

Very thankful for a clear night sky, with a warm breeze, and no clouds. Here's to living like the mountain is out - even if that means capturing it at odd hours.🌌

Hello little Pacific Octopus 🐙

Last week was pretty quiet work wise & I was all wrapped up on projects, so I decided I was going to go on a low tide walk on Friday to enjoy some calm and nature.

No low tide walk is ever the same and that’s what I love about it. I’ve been to this location hundreds of times, but it was a first to finally see a small Pacific Octopus, dragging a small crab across the rocky shores, under a pier.

What a magical moment! I’m so glad I took the day to recharge in nature.

Thank you to Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium for hosting a very fun and educational Explore the Shore event at Owen Beach!

Early morning light, a beautiful park, and a woman who’s dedicated to serving her community. 🌿☀️

I had the honor of photographing Kate Baldwin for her Auburn City Council reelection campaign. She was referred to me through a mutual friend, and right away it was clear how much she truly cares about the people in her city.

Local elections matter. These are the folks showing up for your schools, your neighborhoods, your safety, and your everyday quality of life.
When you vote local, you’re voting for someone who knows your community—because they live there too. 💛

Family photos, but make it low-stress.🐾

When Abbie told me she wanted photos that felt relaxed, not formal and natural, I knew exactly how to approach it—documentary-style, in their space, just being a family.

The Tuckers were saying goodbye to their first home, so we kept it simple: books, toys, a baby blanket for Chip, and a few things for their sweet pup Penny. We used the living room, deck, and backyard—spaces filled with memories—to capture these final moments in the place they called home.

No pressure, no posing—just real life.💛

Thank you to Katie for gifting this session to her clients. If you’re a Realtor looking for a meaningful, lasting gift… this is it.
