Good morning, everyone! I have some exciting announcements. First, I'm thrilled to be working with Amy Godfrey Johnson from GreatDanePhotos in a couple of weeks as part of her team to cover the AKC National Agility Championship 2026 in my hometown of Temecula, CA!

This won't interfere with my progress on the previews from The Kraken Cup, as I won't be editing any of the photos from nationals- the team at Great Dane Photos will handle that.

Another big change this year is that I will be doing only a few events. The West Coast Cup in Prunedale is confirmed, and I might do a dock diving event here or there, but I haven't finalised any dates yet. My main focus will be on serving my patients at East Bay Chiropractic Health Center in Pinole. However, I will be seeking more opportunities as a second shooter, like the one next month for AKC Agility Nationals, which allows me to concentrate on taking photos without handling the editing, so I can focus on my clients during the week.

If you want me to be at one of your events this year, please reach out now with proposed dates to reserve them. If it's not on my calendar, it's not a definite yes yet!

Have you ever paused to consider why photo editing sometimes seems to take an extended period, leading me to decide to postpone comprehensive editing until after the purchase of the images? The reason lies in the fact that in-depth editing requires substantial time and effort, extending far beyond basic adjustments such as cropping and fine-tuning the lighting and shadows. While I don't always choose to completely remake the background in every photograph, certain images possess an undeniable potential that demands this level of refinement. Consequently, if I dedicate the time and effort to edit one image within a series, I am committed to providing the same level of quality and attention to detail to all the dogs featured in that particular sequence.

My personal relationship with this editing process is, in a word, complex. There's a deep sense of creative satisfaction that comes from it, but at the same time, I'm acutely aware of other tasks that demand my attention and the ever-growing queue of pending projects. Ultimately, however, I am absolutely unwilling to sacrifice the quality of my work in favor of speed or efficiency.

Edited to add: If you've purchased a photo and would like a specific element removed, left as is, or added to the background, please email me after placing your order, and I'd be happy to accommodate reasonable requests!

I have been debating on posting this, but I do feel that this is a needed announcmeent. I will always stand firm on personal and professional integrity.

In any creative or service-based field, the importance of integrity and risk management can't be overstated. It's often tempting to take shortcuts to please a client or simplify a process, but a true professional understands the long-term value of doing things "by the book."

Why is this so critical?

• Protecting Yourself and Your Client: Adhering to standards, such as securing written permissions for copyrighted material (like photos), isn't about being difficult—it’s about liability. It protects you from potential legal issues down the road and ensures your client's final product is legally sound.
• The "Real World" includes the Rules: Some may argue, "That's just too much training," or "This is the real world." But the reality is, the professional world operates on contracts, licensing, and intellectual property law. Ignoring these things for convenience is not professionalism; it’s an unnecessary risk.
• It’s Not Personal: Asking for documentation is simply good risk management. It’s not a refusal to work with someone; it's a necessary precaution to protect all parties involved.

It can be inconvenient, and sometimes it can even cost you a job. But choosing to maintain high standards and protect yourself against future consequences is the very definition of professional integrity. Always choose principle over convenience.

Previews from Rockin' R Ranch on September 20th & 21st are up! You will see some differences here from dock photos I have taken in the past, as all day on Saturady I used a much shorter lens (50mm 1.2/f), and played with my angles on Sunday in an effort to both avoid the fun and to try having fun with my photography again.

This marks the last batch of previews for the year, so I'll be working on orders that have come in as well as any volunteer photos I've taken since then.

Next year, I will likely be doing a total of 6 events or less. Please reach out to me sooner rather than later to confirm any dates, as I will not be actively seeking opportunities. If you have not gotten explicit confirmation for an exact date from me, reach out now to ensure your spot is locked in or to negotiate which dates are most important for you to have coverage.

Previews for D3 - Dogs Diving for Dollars Finals at All Dogs Sports Park are up for preview! Do keep in mind, these are NOT the final edits, but the un-cropped and lower resolution photo that will be edited within 7 days of the order being placed.

It was so good to see everyone again, and while next year I’ll be at fewer events as I put more of my focus into my clinic, you will still see me around!

My next set of preview to go live will be the UKI West Coast Cup, which have finished uploading to my website and are in the process of being sorted. They will be available within the next several days!

Previews from Canine Catch Crew's UpDog Challenge at All Dogs Sports Park are up! This was such a fun trial, and both mine and Birdie's first time competing in Frisbee. We are hooked! Can't wait for the next one.

I also have a couple of announcements to make. As I transition from full-time photographer to full-time chiropractor and clinic director of 100% Chiropractic El Cerrito, CA you will see a sharp decrease in the events I’ll be attending, with my last two of the year being D3 and Rockin’ R in September. In 2026, I will be taking on only a limited number of show to ensure ample time to focus on my practice, my patients, and having a work/life balance that allows at least some time off to enjoy life. This will likely be only one event per month, and ONLY by request of the event host. Want me at your show next year? Reach out now to secure your spot, they will be extremely limited!

With my change in schedule, my editing hours are limited to 1-2 hours in the evenings after work, and around 6 hours in total on the weekends. This means final edits on ordered photos will take around 7-10 days, depending on the number of photos ordered and where you are at in the current editing queue. I have also added a new FAQ section on my website to address common questions that come through!

Fantastic news everyone! The previews from Zanee Agility’s UKI True Colors Classic at Run Wild Dog Sports have been sorted and are up for preview!

This was such a fun event, gorgeous venue, fantastic hosts and of course phenomenal teams to photograph. Can’t wait for my next opportunity to go back!

Should you see any loose dogs that don’t belong in your album, please reach out! Though I do my best to prevent this, there were over 10,000 photos that I sorted, and after a while all those black and whites have a tendency to blend together.

My next previews will be for Dock Diving Dogs- D3 Series - All Dogs Sports Park from last weekend, and I expect them by early next week.

Previews from Zanee Agility's AKC ISC trial at Run Wild Dog Sports on Friday, July 11th, are up! This is a big one, just shy of 4000 photos in total. However, it doesn't compare to the next one: Zanee's UKI True Colors Classic is nearing 10,000 photos kept from the original 50,000 shot. I have a problem.

The True Colors Classic photos will be up soon, I promise. I'm hoping for having them done by the end of the day Friday, but I can't guarantee it at this time. If not Friday, it will be Monday or Tuesday as I'm shooting D3 in Lodi this weekend, and have my first day at my new chiropractic office next week as well. Many things to balance, but as always, I will make all the things work.
