Philadelphia-Hope. One of the most remarkable features of City Hall is its many sculptures. The building has over 250 relief and freestanding sculptures, all created by Alexander Milne Calder. The sculptures represent a wide range of topics, historical, allegorical, mythological, people and animals, and figures that symbolize wisdom and attributes, virtues, and vices. The bronze statue of William Penn which sits on the dome of the building stands thirty-seven feet tall, and weighs twenty-seven tons. His five-foot long hand is pointing northeast towards Penn Treaty Park, where William Penn made a treaty of friendship with the Native Americans in 1682. The hand appears to be making a humble gesture of blessing and welcome. The bronze statue has magnificent details - decorated buttons and lace cuffs. The Charter of Pennsylvania from King Charles II which he carries, has legible words written on it. The Charter is resting on a tree stump which symbolizes the first tree cut from his “Greene Country Towne.”
This is one of the many sculptures gracing the outside of the building. It is on the West side of City Hall, overlooking Dilworth Plaza. , , , , , , , ,

ROME-THE DOMES OF ROME, one of the many iconic architectural masterpieces we stopped at during our visit in Rome. We loved Rome. Contrary to what we heard it was not dirty and we were not bothered by pickpockets, in fact, Rome was one of our favorite places we toured during our trip. We did see a couple of gypsies begging outside the train station when we arrived, but if you ignore them they go away. Can’t wait to go back. , , , , ,

TUSCANY-BIRDHOUSES IN THE WINDOW was captured on a day trip to the Tuscany area from the city of Florence. This small walled medieval hill town is located in the province of Siena, Tuscany, in north central Italy. The building include examples of both Romanesque and Gothic architecture. The town known for saffron, the Golden Ham, and its white w**e, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area. I must admit, I was very disappointed to see the merchants that have taken over the area and made more of a tourist trap. I guess everyone has to make a living. , , , , , , , , , , ,

- on the Sill. A jug planter sitting on a outdoor window sill we passed by in the Lake Como region of . I really love the old building in Italy which is what I tried to achieve here. I changed it to a black and white image and used some selective colors to focus on the flowers and planter. I really was not happy with the look so I added some warm tones to the image and ended up with this piece. , , , , , , , ,

- was our first night in Rome. My husband found this great deal online for a Happy Hour at the Museum. When you purchased your tickets you picked one of the available times. It included a buffet meal, one drink each, a Trio played music while we ate, and then you toured the museum. Before we went to the affair, we strolled to St Peter’s Sq and captured some night images around the square. , , , , , , , , , ,

-Outdoor Seating. A random image that is a typical scene seen in Italy. Such a rustic and quaint setting for sipping your afternoon and nibbling on that freshly made pastry. DC- AND was taken during one of many trips to the DC area. Unfortunately, this year we were unable to visit because of the Covid 19 outbreak. Hopefully this pandemic will come to an end soon and we will be able to travel about like we use to.

-On the Way to the Lighthouse. Walking along the beach on our way to the Cape May . The lighthouse was completed in 1859. It is located adjacent to point and 2 miles from the center of Cape May. Cape May is a city at the southernmost part of the Cape May peninsula. The Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean meet at this point. Cape May was designated as a Historic District and a National Historic Landmark, in 1976. It is graced with Homes which have been turned into Bed and Breakfast Inns, restaurants, or private residences. Cape May is also know for its craft and cultural events such as the Cape May Jazz Festival and the Cape May Music festival. We visited Cape May many times throughout the years and I am happy to say it has not changed much over the years like the other Jersey shorepoints have changed. Our kids loved their visits to Cape May, especially when we went searching for "Cape May Diamonds" on Sunset Beach! They would spend hours looking through the stones on the beach searching for that perfect and large "diamond" which were actually pieces of clear quartz that washed down from the banks of the River, some 200 miles to the shore.
Good food, pristine beaches, shopping, so much to do. If you ever decide to visit Cape May NJ, be sure to bring you binoculars there are plenty of birds, whales, and dolphins to entertain you.
